Borrowing things |
|
Now like I have said in some posts here before .i never have a problem with people borrowing money or certain items from me as long as I can be sure that you will either repay me or return the item after use. However, I have a problem when it comes to people borrowing my clothes .In fact I can never lend out a clothe or shoes I wear to anyone to wear at any point.dont see me as being intolerant but I just cant stand the idea of sharing clothes or shoes with anyone. Never will I also borrow any clothing from anyone .But would you oblige if your friend comes to borrow your favourite clothe from you? Do you think am being different or is it ok to stay the way I am?

Clothing is something very personal...it's worn on your body...and some people feel more strongly than others about the possibility of any kind of transfer. Myself, if I loan an article of clothing to someone, which is usually one of my grown daughters, I have to wash it myself before wearing it again even if she tells me it's beeen washed. So, don't sweat it...pun intended.;-)

2. sophiasmom911 (872) | 4 months ago | I'm that way with clothes also. Just because I've had people borrow some nice articles of clothing and never see them again. I'm a mom So I like my nice clothes and dont have them just to throw around like that. Same with shoes. So I dont do that anymore. So I dont think its you I think you've just learned your lesson and so did I.

3. highflyingxangel (5724) | 4 months ago | I have issues with people borrowing money from me. I've actually stopped doing that because I can never be sure I'll actually get my money back. I don't care about my clothes actually, because I'm sure no one is too interested in wearing what I wear, so it's not a big deal to me.

6. checapricorn (5821) | 4 months ago | We have different personality and attitude and I have known a lot of people who can afford to do it. Not me, when I ask someone to borrow it is the shoes or clothes that I don't like to use anymore and might end up giving to my friend. I can allow my sister to use my favorite shoes and clothes but not anyone else, but my sister also doesn't like the idea of borrowing, which is good thing!

lexus54 (1938) | 4 months ago | I never like lending personal things like clothes and shoes to anyone, and probably never will. I do sometimes give away clothes that I don't wear anymore if they are still in very good condition. Other things I don't mind lending to good friends, including money if there is a genuine case of hardship. I see it as my means of helping someone in need. I feel though that it is best to be self-sufficient, and not to borrow from people as much as possible.

7. stephcjh (11990) | 4 months ago | I do not have a problem with people borrowing things from me either as long as they repay me or return my items the same way the was before I lended them to them. I hate to lend things to people who do not repay or return my items in the same condition. I would never lend my clothes to anyone because I do not want to wear them after someone else wore them. I think it is opkay to be who you want to be and think the way you want to think.

| 8. saizo6 (97) | 4 months ago | The only person who ever borrows clothes from me is my sister but I don't have a problem with it. I, sometimes, borrow her clothes too. I'm okay with family members borrowing things from me because I know they'll return. I use to let my friends borrow things (DVDs, books, etc.) but now I'm not too keen about it. I take really good care of my things so I expect them to return to me the same way I loaned it out. However, most of the time that's not the case. There was an incident once when I let some friends borrow a couple of my anime DVDs (they were very expensive, $30 each) and they in turn let someone I didn't know borrow them without telling me (they kept on telling me that they weren't done with it yet even though they had it for over a month). I was pretty upset that they lied to me about it and when I did get them back my DVDs were all ruined (scratched up and cracked). There were some other similar incidents so I hardly ever let anyone borrow my things anymore.

9. stanwshura (287) | 4 months ago | How's this for revealing something about relationships: I would lend my clothes to friends - because if I call them my friends, it isn't because we've gone to Dunkies once or twice! I would not lend any of my clothes to family. Here's the interesting/tragic part - they do not KNOW me well enough for me to trust that respect for me would emanate from them onto my clothes. In other words - I get the "ick" feeling thinking about lending clothes (or sharing a Coke or eating utensils) with family. Not so for my real friends - which, as I said above, is redundant.

10. chrissieatu (541) | 4 months ago | I don't mind people borrowing things and money from me as long as they give them back to me later. I don't mind lending people clothes. But as to shoes, I have to think about it. I don't feel comfortable with the idea that some others wear my shoes. It's just not that good. I think you are just ok to be you. Every one has preference. Besides, yours are quite normal.
