Today I helped with a graduation reception.

We had a punch that was ginger ale and raspberry sherbet. For my daughter's wedding I made "mock champagne". There are lots of different fruit punches, so what kind do you like at a celebration or reception?

Fruit juice with gingerale is good. The "Mock Champagne" had white grape, pineapple and gingerale.

Ginger ale and raspberry sherbert sounds delicious! I'm a huge fan of ginger drinks. A bottle or two added to almost any fruit punch really enlivens it and gives it a little 'kick'.
My family are big fans of elderflower based drinks. The kids love elderflower cordial, and we like elderflower champagne. The flowers are just opening here now, so I've just bought a new bucket so I can start making this year's batch.

Tell us how you do that, please. Elderberry juice tastes nasty but it is one of the preventatives they say prevents colds and other infections. It is very expensive, and I have never seen elderflower anything, anywhere here.

I rarely make fruit punches, although if available I love to drink them.
I enjoy the fruity ones a lot, but I do like the champagne added. It is nice to see a punch with real fruit floating around in it, although strawberries are very expensive.
When it was my 50th birthday, my 9 year old step daughter wanted to make a punch. She used lemons & oranges from our trees, and added lemonade, then added real peach slices & strawberries. It turned out quite nice.

Gerty, my favorite is ginger ale and lime sherbet. How did you make your Mock champagne? That sounds awfully good.

That needs to be on my summer menu. I would dearly love it.
