David Cook...Good...But Not A Winner...

Well, unfortunately David Cook has become the Season 7 American Idol. I think before this final, many people were expecting Cook to win over Archuletta. I feel both Davids are deserving winners of this series and each has his own strengths and following. Even though Simon Cowell was obviously pitching for Archuletta to triumph and probably trying hard to influence the voting outcome, his actions might just have caused some to vote for Cook instead. Just my guess and speculation. But in the end, I think both are great performers and singers, and they will go on and cut their own albums and launch their singing career.

I would like to see David cook win but I do think that it doesnt matter who wins the show anymore. Both will have careers regardless.

Well he won the game already... Anyway it does't really matter anymore. Both contestant are already a winners already the only difference is that the other got the prize money over the other. Being in the top two is already a great privilege to have. They are both bankable singers already and I am pretty sure that they will excel in their own singing fortes in the future.

After the showdown and after the critics from simon, paula, and randy, i think that David Archuleta would win the American Idol season 7. I love both of them! They are both talented! I find them both unique, so i can't compare the way they perform. Archuleta may not be as good in singing songs that Cook sings and vice versa, Cook may not also be as good as Archuleta when singing the songs Archuleta sings. I love Archuleta when he sings Ballads, i like his voice and he sings with clarity. I also love the way he modifies the melody of the songs he sing, giving the songs variety. And of course, he's so cute and so young and so humble! :-) I love Cook when he does rock/mellow rock version of songs. He may not have that whole, round voice but i love that raspy, big voice coming from him. I love his stage presence and projections. And what i love most is the way he arranges a song.. He even sang Mariah Carey's You'll Always Be My Baby and Roberta Flack's First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (as suggested by Simon) and turned it into mellow rock! My favorite is his version of Lionel Richie's Hello!

noooo !!!! they've performed already ??? i will only get to see the show in another 5 hours or so... ( i am not from the US ) i love david cook !!. well, i love david archuletta also... archuletta is so adorable.. very cute.. and a very talented singer... but david cook.. i like him because i think he has 'more to give' than archuletta... archuletta may win the title.. but i agree with you that - mr.cook will have a brilliant music career no matter what... - i hope they'll make an album compilation of all his performance during this whole season.. i luv the way mr.cook sang lionel ritchie's and mariah carey's songs !! - ( i am not from US, so i dun think i can download anything from I-tune... )

yeah i agree to that. Archuleta deserves to be the American Idol for 2008. eventhough he is still young, last night performance proved to be that he deserves to win. even the judges agreed to that. maybe they also thought that Archuleta will win the contest. i was really disappointed when i heard that Cook won the American Idol. and i agree to you that somethings i cannot understand the words that is coming out in his mouth.

They were both good, but I do think David A. did better. They both sang a different type of music, so it will be interesting to hear the results.

My opinion is if David Archuletta doesn't win it's because the public is concerned he won't be able to handle all the traveling, etc. well since he's so shy. His talent is remarkable. I hope he wins as he will have a very promising career. David Cook is ok. I didn't understand the songs he sang last night even though I knew the words to the first song. He seems to slur them and is more focused on the "rock" sound. He's also talented. At this point, I don't know if David A. is strong enough to pull off being the winner and I will be terribly disappointed if he doesn't win. Cook has that little, sexy smile the girls all like so that's a plus for him.

Unfortantly David Cook won. I thought sure David Archulera had it after last night. I have no idea what happened. Oh well like season 5 I am sort of upset.

I actually started liking David Cook too even though I know David A has a great voice but have noticed that he only sounds good when he sings slow songs. They both have talent in different genres but after last nights performance, I think David A did really well and deserves to win. I would still buy David Cooks Cd though.

They both deserved to win. Both are amazing singers in their own way. I'm looking forward to a David Cook cd, I think it will be great.

I love them both but started the season as a huge David A fan and hoped he would win. I started to take note of David Cook from around the Phantom time and now hope he wins. I don't really care which one wins though as I like them both. I can just imagine how cruel David A's dad will be if he doesn't win and that kinda makes me lean toward him. David Cook is going to be a star whether he wins or not. I guess we will find out soon enough...

David A. was pretty good last night. But I think what you say about David Cook being hard to understand sometimes is how I feel about David A. There were many times I did not understand what he was saying, but the last few weeks I could tell he was making an effort to sing the words more clearly. Based on last night's performance alone, it is hard to say, I thought they were both really good. I was more impressed with David A. than I have been all season. I did expect David C. to bring something a little more edgy last night than he did. Through the whole thing though I have liked David Cook.
