Hot dogs, do you have a favorite brand?

I don't really have a favorite brand of hot dog. I am one of those people who can eat just about any hot dogs. I like the cheap ones with all of the fillers and I like the Kosher expensive ones. I have been getting the cheap HUNTER brand hot dogs lately because one of the dogs take a joint pill everyday twice a day and I put the pills in a little chunk of hot dog. These things are actually pretty good. I used to babysit for this family when I was younger that had 2 kinds of hot dogs in the fridge. Oscar Mayer for the dad and some off brand for the kids. Do you have a favorite brand? If so which one?

I really don't care much for them any more. I loved them as a kids. I won't any thing but beef ones. Those turkey and chicken ones taste nasty. I don't eat pork so I avoid any that have that in them. I usually get the Hebrew brand then I know that they don't put any junk in them.

They all taste so different than they did when I was a kid. I used to love those bologna rings that they had back then too. I haven't seen one for years so I don't know if they still make them.

I have seen those, but I have never bought one. You are making me curious now. I thought they were just regular bologna.

I have had the Hebrew National brand and also the Vienna Beef ones. All beef hot dogs are good, but they taste so much different from your everyday hot dogs they are almost not in the same category.

I think Oscar Meyer has the best hot dogs. I like the All Beef ones the best. Other than the store bought hot dogs, we have restaurants around here in PA that sell "Texas Hot Dogs". They have a good flavor different than any store bought kind I've ever tried.

I think I found the place you are referring to. http://www.newcolonist.com/texasdog.html

Yep! I think that was the very first one (the oldest). There are other places around that sell them too. There's also one near the Logan Valley Mall in Altoona, and one with Delgrosso's Park in Tipton PA.

My favorite brand of hot dogs are Casper's. There are only a few Casper's restaurants in the Bay Area so I haven't been one in years. Fortunately there are Casper's brand hot dogs available in grocery stores now, so I buy these when my family wants some. They may not be exactly as I remember them, but they aren't bad either.

I have never heard to Casper's brand hot dogs before. I live in the Central US, so we have different stuff here I guess.

Well even though they are more expensive, on the rare occasion I do have hot dogs, I'll opt for buying the more expensive Kosher brand hot dogs as they are a least "purer"--you start reading what the "fillers" are in the cheapie kind and believe me you don't want to eat them

True, the fillers can be a bit much. I like to get the Kosher ones sometimes.

If I'm really hungry, I love to eat Oscar Meyer hot dogs. Not the beef kind, just chicken. I don't even like the turkey hot dogs. My daughter will only eat the more expensive Oscar Meyer hot dogs. They cost almost four dollars in our local store, so we wait until they go on sale, for buy one get one free. Then we stock up!

Oscar Meyer hot dogs are on sale here right now for 4 packages for $5. That is about as cheap as I have ever seen them. The Hunter brand that my daughter likes(she will not eat Oscar Meyer) are on sale for 50 cents a package.

My daughter likes Hunter. My hubby, he goes for Oscar Meyer. He found these German style Kretchmar dogs. They are really tasty. If I had to choose, those would be mine.

I have never had Kretchmar hot dogs before, but I know the Kretchmar ham and bacon are both really good.

I realy don't care either. I only eat chicken/turkey or veggie dogs, because I don't like red meat, but the brand doesn't really matter.

I usually buy the cheap ones that area called Fun King. They have a good taste to them and they taste good out of the microwave. I don't see paying alot for someting like hot dogs so I don't buy the name brands.

I have never heard of that brand. I like to microwave mine till they burst open. Easiest to do with the cheap ones.

Not really. i pretty much like them all. I was talking to some people about ball park hot dogs so i had to get those. Pretty much I'll eat any hotdogs though. I'm not particular. I like them all.

Ball Park Franks are one that I have not had in a long time. I remember the commercials always said "they Plump when you cook them". The plump from all the fillers.

I really like purefood's tender juicy hotdog. I don't know but I think it is only available here in the Philippines.
