a dress, shirt, whatever. You wear it and return it the next day or week. I haven't done this, but I was listening to a radio talk show this morning. This was the topic. I was surprised how many people actually do this.

I do not want to know. Seems pretty gross. Now I do not want to buy things off the rack.

A lot of people like to impulse buy and later on realize that they cannot aforid whatever it is they bought. I will not even go out shopping unless I have money to buy something, not only is it a waste of the salespersons time it is a waste of my time as well to do such a thing. I can't imagine why people would make two trips somewhere when they shouldn't have made the first trip, especially with the way gas prices are now. I guess there just really isn't anyway of predicting someone.

I myself have never done this, but I have seen it done and seen it on television. I wouldn't be ab;e to do this becuae knowing me I would ruin it by spilling something onto it or messing it up. People do this because they want clothes that they can't afford so this way they can have their cake and eat it to. I doubt you would be able to do the same store very often or they'd catch on after awhile.

I see this all the time. It made me angry recently when a woman came into the store to return a complete outfit she admitted that she had worn out to dinner. She said she was getting a divorce and needed the money. Didn't she know that she was getting a divorce 6 days ago, when she purchased the outfit? She returned a dress, necklace and shoes. I had another lady today that bought a pair of shoes to wear to an event at work and once the event was through she was straight back to our store. People do it everyday.

I am not surprised it happens, thing is...when I return something with the tags, no receipt they give me a hard time! I've even had them question a receipt!

I had a friend when we were in our 20's who was single and she used to do that a LOT! She liked to dress real nice when she went out and couldn't afford the clothes she wanted to wear so she would buy something on a Friday, wear it sometime during the weekend and take it back. She did get busted once because she was recognized in one of those small boutique type shops and they refused to take the item back. She never felt guilty about it but I thought it was pretty dishonest.

Hi ersmommy1,
I've heard of people doing it as well. I think the stores are aware of that, but it's a form of having a satisfied customer regardless of whatever he/she does with the item and as long as it's done within the company policy.
I wouldn't do that, if you choose some clothing because you liked it, I guess you keep it. Besides I would want to waste time to go out, take it back, etc.
