With all our extra money we have...let's pay Hillary's debt! Want to?

I just have to say this ...I am appalled that this is happening...makes me not even want to vote or at least vote against them..... Obama is asking the American people to give money to Hillary to help her pay back her campaign debt before she can't claim any of it as a write off and have to loose that money. (whatever the specifics are on that) ... how dare he ask American people to do that! Why should WE have to pay her debt for any reason? Couldn't she manage her money any better than that? Guess it tells us how she'd a run the countries money. But not to drag this into politics, here we are paying nearly $5 a gallon for gas to get back and forth to our low paying jobs, but, "help Hillary". Here we are loosing our homes...but "help Hillary". Bread is $4 a loaf and with the floods in the mid west, many food items are going to rise in price not to mention maybe not even being around until next year, but "Help Hillary". We can't hardly met our general bills - summer heat increasing our electric bills and such ... but "Help Hillary". The mid west is literally flooded out and people have lost literally everything they had and have no where to go, but "help Hillary". I am just flabbergasted that he has the audasity to ask us to give them any money at all muchless at this time. I am sure she stayed in the highest priced hotels, most I have ever been able to afford is Motel 6, and can't even afford that now. Eating in all the five star restaurants where I am lucky to make the $1 value menu. Fancy, expensive, MANY clothes, and if it ain't on the clearance rack at Kohl's or Target, I can't afford it. I could go on but you get the point. And I know I speak for MANY, MANY others and then some. How can they ask us to pay a huge debt like that for them when because of the depression this country is in because of oil prices, we can't even pay our own debts? Makes me angry, but also makes me wonder...if they couldn't handle the money of their campaign, how can I believe they can handle the countries money? Anyone else doing any wondering?

I"m so with you in this one. Politics are such a big mess, down to all these campaigns... everything is money nowadays. They get fundraisers and this and that and then what ? we're expected to help them pay for that too? YOu can't afford it then don't do it ,duh! isn't that what we're told and what experience thought us? WHo's going to help us even with the most basic things to live? Isn't that more important than a political campaign? Help hillary? WHy? WHo's helping me?

Yeah, if we can all owe the IRS, why can't she? I wish all these big-wigs should have to take public transportation and shop with coupons and all the stuff we all do just to make ends meet - not a one of them would survive.....

You've said it all ! I agree with you completly. I was planning to vote for Obama, until this crap came up. When I voted in the primary, I thought I was voting against Hillary. There is no way I want to pay any millionaire's bills, especially for running around the country barking like a little bulldog. I am surprised and shocked that the Obama campaign would even try such a thing. It reall made me lose alot of confidence in him. I had already decided to vote against him should he use Hillary as a running mate, now I am not sure I want to vote for him or not. Too much political correctedness for me.

The two of them together - "scary thought" doesn't even come close! But yeah, I was so shocked when I heard him say to help her and all the kind things she had to say about him. LIke someone here said, why don't Bill come to his wife's asistance for once in his life and help pay her debt - all he apparently has to do is a few speaking engagements and all is paid!

I think that it is silly that anyone in politics should ask the American people for help paying off any of their debts. If you stop to think about it while Hillary was campaigning to be president she wasn't doing the job that she was getting paid for in the first place. I would love to know what other occupation pays you to interview for a different position? If Obama is so concerned about Hillary's debt maybe he should offer to pay it off for her. Or Bill could take a speaking engagement or two to pay off her debt since he makes so much doing them. Please none of these politicians are feeling the crunch like the average American. I think that politicians are overpaid crooks.

Well I guess if people give such huge amounts as a deduction for themselves, I guess the politician thinks they should just go ahead and pay the rest. THere should definately be a cap on how much you can spend on things like this - yeah, like that is going to happen this century this century muchless ever!

This disgusted me as well. If she was struggling so much raiseing campaign money to try to win and was losing anyway than why did she keep going. She should have to work her way out of her debt like everybody else does that has problems with money. That was a bad statement from Obama.

I think there should be a cap on crap like this. I mean, the millions and millions upon millions they all spent - look what they could have done for this country. Just goes to show what he expects the country to do for him!

i don't give a damn to the appeal of obama to shell out money. you have illustrated the point very clearly. why do we have to pay for one's debt? did we benefit from it? it is outrageously absurd and ridiculous. it does not only make me wonder, it makes me puke. that's why i am starting to abhor politics and politicians.

They ask cause they know people will send them money and hey, anything will help. the more she can pay the debt down with someone else's money the less she'll have to deal with on her own. Disgusting.Absolutely disgusting.

coffeebreak you sure spoke that well and as you feel so do many other American people. I have never had to struggle so hard, just two years ago I worked so I could have money to spend on what ever I wanted it was nothing to spend 100 dollars on the grandkids, but now I have to help pay bills because of the prices of everything and I am really sick of our government and I probably will just stay home on voting day because they will do what they want anyway. You have a wonderful evening.

It will be morbidly interesting to see how many do give her money.... and I know some will. Wonder if Bill is going to help her out!
