today must be rant day for sure, as now someone is complaining that pictures are being used as discussions, and I reeally have not seen that. I have seen pictures used as a topic for a
discussion, mainly in gardening and a few other interests.'What
is your take on this mylotters, to me if a picture is part of a discussion what the hell wrong does it do? this is my rant I
guess.A second question, is today a day for being way too critical of one another as mylotters?

I don't see anything wrong with incorporating pictures into discussions. What possible harm would that cause? All the more to talk about as Isee it. Often times there is a poor number of topics to discuss and this opens the arena I'm all for it.

hi kbourgerie me too I love for example Grandpa Bobs pictures and discussions as I love to garden. I agree there is often a poor number of topics to discuss and I too like this idea.

hi friend
I think it is absolutely no problem ti add the picturs into your discussion.
As long as you shot the photo by yourself, not take from other people's album.BUt i think friend will not mind this action unless the man you don't know.
Mylot is fair community. If you really don't violate any policy or rule on mylot.I think mylot will support a lot for your rights.
Good luck to you

LOL!! I think yesterday was a day to rant PERIOD.. My off line friends all had bad days too.
If it was just a picture by itself.. then I don't think it qualifies at all. If it is a picture with an explanation of the event, how it was taken and a question was asked.. then that is fine.
If someone were to just post a pic of their foot.. with just "." as the discussion topic, than I would hope that it gets deleted

dikzzblnd no I meant the discussion uses as its topic the picture so it all ties together. a picture alone is not a discussion in anyway.

My thought is that if they don't want to respond, they don't have to and I see nothing wrong with a picture with a discussion.

there's absolutely nothing wrong with it i guess..as long as it does not violate any rules here...sometimes its funny when people are soo critical on others especially strategies to start a discussion.. @ersmommy1 (12587)

Pictures are the spice of mylot. It would be a pretty plain site without them. Most of the pics go along well with the discussion they are a part of. So I have to say yes they belong. As for being critical, it happens here. It can be unfortunate. But I just try and maintain a positive attitude.

hi ersmommy1 I too think that pictures liven us
up a lot and the discussions use them to great advantage
'like grandpa bob for example.

I do not see anything wrong with pictures either. I have seem a couple in photography interest that were really neat. I think it changes the monotony of what we do here and gives us a different viewpoint on things. I am not sure about the being way too critical of other mylotters. I have found that some of the new comers with less than 50 post just posting in the earning money interest are just promoting websites and trying to get referrals and that does get old.

baileycows you are right on there, I am sick of those
discussions promoting websites and trying to get
referrals, they generally do get deleted if you do
respond and so you lose points. I love the discussions'
with pictures and wish I could do that.

I have never seen a discussion where a picture was posted without being an enhancement to the topic. Sounds like the person who complained was just looking for something (nothing) to post. Perhaps they are one of these "Pepsi or Cola" boring type of members.
MyLot would not give you the opinion to "add an image" if they did not encourage that practice!

Hi Hatley,
I am not against about it. Everyone has the right to do what they want to do and post what they want to share and attached here. I have observed also a lot of criticism this time but if it is address properly to the person concern, maybe we can consider that as constructive!

Oh Hatley it has been a terrible weekend for criticism and resentments coming out and I really don't like when that happens! I guess though it is like any community and there will always be disagreements and ruffled feathers although I have seen so much of it the last few days I am finding it hard to stay calm and positive which isn't really like me! I do hope that things will calm down and we can all breathe a huge sigh of relief soon! As for the pictures I don't have a problem with it and if I did then I would simply avoid the post and move on to something I did like! xxx

Hi Hatley, No you are fine, I saw this discussion and responded that as long as their is a pic within the discussion that is fine, I think it was aimed at just a pic and nothing else, no discussion related to it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a pic being uploaded as part of a discussion. I hope you enjoyed the rant, it is good to let it all out sometimes eh! I haven't noticed you or anyone else being too critical, just views being aired really. Ellie :D

I personally don't particularly like discussions which are based on a photo, because my discussions appear in my inbox where of course I can't see the photo. So I have to go through the palaver of finding the discussion in order to see the photo and hence be able to reply.
But that's a personal thing and it's my choice whether I do it or not. I can just as easily just delete the discussion and move onto the next one. The original poster obviously has the choice as to whether or not to post a discussion that might not get responded to by people like me, or not.
I really don't see that it's something worth complaining about. Surely life is to short to get het up over little things which are easily ignored?
As for your second question, myLot seems to be full of moans just now. Maybe people are just using moans as a way of creating discussions as they are out of other ideas! I don't see any point in moaning about other users. It's easy to ignore those people if what they're doing irritates you. MyLot is a big place and I'm convinced that there's room for us all.

Hi,
I really like the pictures that are put into discussions. it makes the words more meaningful. I have only been on MyLot for few days, but I haven't seen any objectable pictures but maybe I'm not posting in the right forums. LOL
Have a great day!
Char
:-)
