What's The Speed Limit In Your Country?

Okay, so I'm on my way to church which is about 86 miles away and I do my usual 80 MPH. Oops, that's a confession. In any case people are honking at me to get into the slow lane. What on Earth? So if I'm doing 80 you can guess what everyone else was doing. Our speed limit is 65MPH which I'm assuming is also the speed limit in the fast lane, right? Anyhow, what's the speed limit where you live.

On the highways around here the speed limit is 70 MPH. I normally go about 71 or 72 though. I get passed all the time by people. Most people on the road are going at least 80. 80 MPH is nothing I once got my car up to 107. At 107 the engine shuts down. Safety measure I guess.

That's a great safety measure. But does the car just stop or cruise? Not good for the cars right behind you I would think. I wonder if the speed limit will ever be raised again. How much faster should we go? Anyhow, have a great week lilybug.

It shuts the car down and you start to slow down. I was young and stupid at the time.

The speed limit in Missouri is 60 miles per hour on the highway. I think, but am not sure, it's faster when traveling away from the city out near farmland. We now have speed limit signs that are activated by the speed of traffic. In other words, if the sign shows 50 mph during traffic, a driver must drive only 50 mph or they run the risk of getting a speeding ticket. Once traffic begins to move faster the speed limit sign will change back to 60. I keep forgetting to check it as I travel the highway..lol

The speed limit on the highway in Canada can be either `100 to 110 kph I have no idea what that is in miles. It has been a long time since I figured it out. But usually it is the speed limit that is posted. The fast lane is for passing, so you might go a little faster so if you are at the speed limit or below I would advise that you tried the slow lane and let the speeders pass you.

The Irish speed limit is 100km/h or 64m/h. The irish government are after getting very strict on driving laws, even if you are 5km over your are fined.....-)

OMG. I know how you feel. I do the same speed and get honked at as well. Makes me feel slow. lol. And for some off reason I am addicted to the fast lane even if I go slow. So as you can see I get a lot of mean glares while driving on the high way!

Here in England it varies depending what road you are on. On the motorway it is 70mph. Residential areas are usually 30mph. On dual carriage ways is usually 70mph. Unless the sign shows different. The national speed limit is 60mph. Not that some people take a lot of notice of it. We have a Sat Nav that tells us when we are in excess of the speed limit.
