Do you take any sleep aids to help you get a good nights rest? |
| |
| I hate to sleep, but when I need my rest there is nothing like laying there and counting sheep into the thousands. I've never taken a sleep aid but the other night I did, I don't know if it helped but I did feel better in the morning. It was an herb so its not habit forming, do you require a sleep aid so you can get your Zzzzzz's? | | sleep aids | | | | |

| | No, I use to. They make me so groggy. I have been using meditation has a relaxation technique to fall asleep faster and more heavily. | | | | | | |

| | i just smoke a bowl before bed and it knocks me right out and lets me sleep through the night and in the morning i feel great! i used to have really bad problems sleeping until i started doing that and on nights i could get to sleep i would end up waking up every couple of hours and then it would take me an hour to fall back to sleep so i never felt rested and was always tired. i don't have that problem now and it is so wonderful | | | | | | |

| | I hope you're kidding, but you're young so I guess that's your choice. I use to live in Pompano Beach, FL. Great weather, I miss the beach. | | | |

| | Melatonin was what I took, I didn't want to put it in the header. My wife started back working nights and it has me sorta messed up with sleep. I don't want to take something that will make me groggy either, I'm not a fan of medicine, I can have a headache all day long and not take anything because I don't want that stuff in my body. I hope you can find something to help you sleep too. | | | |

| | See, I have such weird reactions to medications that I'm even groggy in the morning after taking Melatonin. I haven't heard of anybody else being this way though. Hopefully you'll get used to the new routine and not need anything to help you sleep! | | | |

| | Just melatonin and Vitamic C tablets when we travel--It is Emergen-C's "Sleep Health" Night Time blend with B-6, calcium, and magnesium also in it, which I don't really think of so much as a sleep aid as just a nice bit of extra nutrition. I pretty much always get a good night's rest anyway, although like a little kid full of life and adventure I hate to go to bed each night. Once there, though I usually drop off immediately and sleep straight through. | | | | | | |

| | I was not aware Emergen-C had a Night Time Blend. I will have to look for it. Are you in USA? Where did you find it? Sometimes I take Advil PM because pain keeps me from sleeping. | | | |

| | I am not sure where we picked it up, but it was in the San Francisco Bay Area, probably Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. Vitanet carries it online, though: http://vitanetonline.com/... | | | |

| | For the longest time I have not had to take anything to help me sleep, although the last two night I have been unable to sleep well at all. But I remember a few years ago when I was having problems sleeping and so decided to try some new herbal thingies that had not been out long. I followed the instructions and took them and went to bed, they did not work. So I took another couple, waited a couple of hours, nothing. I finally took another two, next thing I knew I must have gone to sleep and I did not wake up until evening time the next day. | | | | | | |

| | No, I have not needed sleep aids any time in recent memory. I know that some pain relievers and some antihistamines have that effect, to make one drowsy. I usually am asleep within minutes, maybe even seconds of hitting the bed. Some experts say that is a sign of sleep deprivation, to be that tired. | | | | | | |

| | Yep! I cannot sleep without one. That sucks big time but I have to admit I am dependent on sleeping pills. I am on meds for Bi Polar and they knock me out every night. Without them I get no sleep whatsoever. I used to be able to sleep fine but not anymore. My mind won't shut down no matter how tired I am. It sucks. So when I run out of my meds and have to wait a couple of days to get them back, I take PM's or nerve pills to help calm me down. Yeah it is pretty bad when you have to rely on pills just to get sleep. | | | | | | |

| | Yeah and nothing else works. I have tried to make myself so tried and go to sleep naturally and it does not work either. I am Bi Polar and my mind is on all the time. I can't shut down my mind or relax enough to go to sleep unless I have pills. I wasn't always like this, only until I started having Bi Polar symptoms and the put me on meds for them. It really does suck to have to pop pills just to get a good nights sleep. I take my meds at night and within a half hour I am knocked out. I am so knocked out from the meds that nothing can wake me. Right now I am on 200 mgs of Seroquel but when the first put me on it they had me on 400 mgs and let me tell you, I never want to take that high of a dose again. Because of the high dose, I couldn't wake up in the morning like I wanted. I ended up knocked out all night and half the day. It wasn't fun because you know I wanted to have a life and couldn't because of the high dose. So I asked her to lower it and now I'm fine. I can get up in the morning when my dog needs to go out to do his business and I can't get more stuff done around the house and online. | | | |

| | I have to take seroquel too just have my mind calm down so I can sleep. Its not good for me to have to take seroquel to sleep but than I don't get any sleep. If I was to not take the seroquel I would lay in bed and maybe get to sleep breifly but wake up too much and would only be laying there around 2 hours. I'm just glad I have the medicine to at least sleep. It is bothersome to wake up feeling over-druged. You just can't get going to get anything done. Things are good though if taking properly. I take 275mg a night of seroquel. | | | |
