Well in the past 2 weeks I had 2 fans die on me. Today one broke and I had it tore apart trying to fix it but the motor was burnt out. It was over 10 years old after all. Well dad then asked me how much they cost. I said about $20 and he hands me $40 saying go get a good fan from WalMart then. I never turn down freebies even from dad. Hee hee hee. So I fouind these 20 inch 3-speed fans on sale at WalMart. $10 each. So I bought two. Just in time as tomorrow it is going to be hot and humid once again. My a/c will be on with the fan helping circulate the cool air into the office and bedrooms. I only have a window a/c in the living room. Do you use fans with your a/c to circulate air? Or do you have central air? Do you use just fans? Or is it cold as heck where you are?

It's been hot here but sometimes cold..but, we have no fan, we are planning to purchase also so when I am alone and hubby will be working, I will just use eletric fan..that's a good deal Grandpa B,,I hope they will still have that sale until next week in our place...We have a/c but i only turn it on around 3 pm and that will be until 8 pm, then most of the time, we will just open our window in our bedroom to have fresh air and also to save!

It is very hot here and I do have central air. My central air was turned on the last part of May. I also have ceiling fans that we turn on to circulate the air. I could not be in my house without it. It gets to darn hot.

Well here in Minnesota my heat was on a week or more. We had snow in the first week of May also. Nasty but now the heat and humidity are here for a while.

Good morning, dear Grandpa Bob. We have one air-conditioner in our apartment, which is installed in our bedroom. But we have a fan for each of the room, three room in all. And we also have one for the kitchen and dinning room and sitting-room. So there are altogether six fans in each place of the apartment. If we use the air-conditioner, we do not use the fan and vice versa. Stay cool, Grandpa Bob.

Well I have a one room A/C in the living room window so to spread the cool air I use a few fans.

I only have a window air conditioner here in this rat-trap I'm living in now, but I have two fans and I need anything at all, I'll try to get by with just one of those.
If it's really bad by late afternoon, I'll turn the air on, but at night I just use a fan, since the air doesn't circulate well to the other rooms, even with fans.

My living room faces west so the shades and drapes are usually closed when it is really hot and humid to block out the heat from the suns rays as well.

Hi my friend,
We have central air conditioning in our house and when it is hot and humid we run the air. I don't deal well when it is hot an humed. In the office, I have a ceiling fan that I use if I'm still warm. During the day, I'm the only one home, so I turn the temp up on the a/c and use the fan. No use cooling all the other rooms. lol
We also use fans when the a/c is off and it's a little warm in the house. It sure does help circulate the air around.
Have a great day!
Char

I have bronchial asthma and when it gets really humid my bronchial tube likes shrinking causing me an asthma attack. So I use my inhalers a lot during the summer compared to winter and or fall.

I have central a/c downstairs, a window type unit available, but not in use, upstairs. Downstairs we have ceiling fans in almost all of the rooms. We have fans upstairs. Eventually we will probably use a/c upstairs, but we just turned on the a/c downstairs. We have not broken 100 yet this year. Usually I am using a/c about July 4 both upstairs and down.

Ceiling fans work great for sirculatiing heat or cool air all year long. I use my one for this purpose almost all year long. We have had just 2 days of 90 or higher where as we usually have a 12 by now. But theres lots of time left yet. The highest we have been was 93 Saturday. But we get the humidity really bad here even when it's in the 80's sometimes it feels like 100 outside due to the humid thick air.

I wish it was cold as heck here. Sometimes we turn on the fan in the bedroom at night in addition to the air conditioning but it makes my allergies go crazy. I love the sound and the feel of the fan on me when I'm about to go to sleep. It seems so relaxing but I always pay for it with stuffy nose and itchy eyes and throat.

We don't have air conditioning, we have fans and the fans tend to be pointed at the floor...for the dogs...they seem to suffer from the heat more then we do.
I wish it was cold as heck!

Leave it to Wally World to get you a good deal! I am lucky enough to live in a house with central air. The problem is the thermostat was already in the house 4 years ago when my Grandma bought it, and didn't have a manual. So we don't know how to work it. It shuts off at night so now that its been hot you get hot and sticky about 12:30, and it stays that way until about 5am. I looked online for a manual last night, no luck. So maybe I should get myself over to Wally World and get a couple of those fans for nighttime lol.

Call the company of the A/C unit. They should know
as it is their thermostat more than likely.

haha, the first thing i thought about was, did you then return your papa the extra $20?!
well, I have an a/c but I try not to use it because it consumes an appalling amount of electricity. and electricity tariffs in singapore just went up. must be because of the general fuel price increase.
i use fans every night when i sleep. it's not cold at all now. but sometimes during the night and early morning it rains, and then life becomes bearable. in our offices there is definitely a/c. otherwise it's not possible to function efficiently.

Don't you love it when you find a deal on something that you really need. I love it when that happens. I have a fan in my room that I use to circulate the air at night, but nowhere else in the house. We have central air and it has been getting a workout lately. The last 2 days have not been too bad because we had rain, but I am sure the heat will be back soon.

A couple of weeks ago my fan bit the dust too. I took it apart, cleaned it up, oiled it, it still wouldn't work. My son bought me a new fan. I don't have central air neither. I have 2 window AC units. one upstairs in the hall. The other one I have in the living room window, we put a fan in front of the AC unit to blow the cool air around too. We have had a few hot, humid days. We have also had plenty of rain, the garden loves it. The plants know the difference between rain water and water out of the hose, they like the natural stuff much better.

I just went out and bought a new fan last night too- It was $12.88 at Wal-Mart. Still a great deal.
We have a/c upstairs only--- in the bedrooms- and yes we use fans up there as well- to blow the cold air around more.
We use fans downstairs as well- I use a fan year round- even in the winter- I love the sounds they make.

WEll AGB we don't have air conditioning here as it would be used very little - our weather isn't as good as yours! I do have 2 fans though as I get hot very easily - I have a large 3 speed one and a slightly smaller table top 3 speed one too and I have them on an awful lot! Great price on yours AGB i wish I could have gotten some for that price - do you think your Dad would buy me a new one! lol

I do have central air, but I do have one oscillating fan on a tall pole that I keep in my main hallway for the bedrooms. I shut the AC off in the night and just keep the fan going unless it's really hot or humid that night.
Good deal at Walmart though.
