I am the older sibling and my sister is 7 years younger than I am...don't know if that's considered a vast age difference.
But for a long time, we weren't really involved in each other's lives. When I was in high school, she was still in primary school..and then I went off to college. It wasn't before I was around 20 and she was in high school that we started bonding as individuals. Till then, when we lived together, she was always the little sister and a few years after she was born, I would take good care of her.
My kids are 6.5 years apart and the younger one tends to boss over the older one!

Yes, Bala...I've started working now...so am very busy and mylot once in a few days.
The family is doing well, thank you:)
I don't think my sister ever looked at me with awe....but I know cases where she has bragged about me to friends or colleagues. She tends to take me for granted now...because like a mother, she knows I will always forgive her for whatever she does and help her and advise her in times of need. But now that she is married, I try to keep my nose out of her business unless it is work related.

We are three sisters, myself being in the middle. My elder sister is just 3 years older to me but she had this weird, annoying habit of posing like our mom right from when she was a child herself! She had to fight with us with things which my mom would ignore. She was like a dedicated teacher with a ruler in her hand all the time and with two much enraged eyes! Now, can you beat it?
My younger sister and me used to be at awe in her presence. She would tell us all weird stories of fairies and ghosts and how we could actually develop wings and fly with her if we are honest enough! Now, we could not even deny that it wasn't actually working in fear of being tagged as 'not-so-honest'! We were docile to her charm!
Those were fun days.....and our much posed mom is a great mother to her kids now. But I am sure the little ones would not take her fakes anymore..LOL...

.I can understand. I am the eldest in my family and the darling of my parents always.I was special to them till they both passed away.Even my Dad named the shop he owned after my name.My brothers always looked up at me with awe always.I used to be friendly and playful with them. But I remember being bossy at times which feels so bad foe me even now.1 person likes this

I have a brother who is 3 1/2 years older than myself. It's always been nice to have an older sibling. We keep in touch but really don't see each other that often because our schedules are so different. He works during the week and I primarily work on the weekends. He lives about 20 minutes from us.

Bala! Fortunately or unfortunately.......I do not have either an elder brother or a sister. I am the eldest and I have one younger brother only. I have no sister. So I will have to ask my brother...how does he feels about your question.......LOL!

I don't but my wife has a sister who is 14 years younger than her. When she was thirteen, her brother eleven and her other sister nine, they were sat around the table and asked by her parents if they wanted another brother or sister. None of them were keen, but it happened anyway. My wife wasn't impressed, as her mother went back to work not too long after the birth, and expected my wife to look after her baby sister when she wasn't at school. Just what a teenager really wants to do. Not!

My sister is only four years older than I am. That doesn't make a differece now that we are adults, but when we were children it made a diference.

There is quite an age difference between me and my siblings. I have 2 brothers. My older brother is 8 years older than me. We are close and communicate quite often. He lives in the same state but about 2 hours away so we see each other a few times a year. My younger brother is 4 years younger and I hear from him a couple times a month. I don't get to see him as often as my other brother as he lives out of state.
