Another discussion got me thinking: How many cookbooks do you have? Do you actually use them? I have probably a dozen. I flip through them every once in awhile to get ideas but it seems like I rarely make anything from them. I get most of my recipes online if I need one. Do you have a favorite cookbook?

My favorite cookbook is an old one from 1927 that belonged to my grandma. The only problem is I have to substitute a lot because you can't get some of the ingredients any longer. My second favorite is a Betty Crocker one I got about 30yrs ago.

i have about 20 cookbooks lol. I have a couple that were given to me and a couple i've bought. my absolute favorite is my better crocker cookbook. its a big orange hardback cook book. its a classic. i also like one i bought that is called the busy womans cookbook. it is full of recipes that only require 3 or 4 ingredients.
I have started to get recipes online though. i'm trying to go through my cookbooks and pick new recipes to try and then when i find one we want to keep i right it down. once i go through a cookbook then i'll get rid of it so we scale down some.

I have a betty crocker cookbook that I bought in 1980. It's one of those classic ones. I have used it alot some of the pages are missing and I spilled something on it once, but it is really my favorite.

There are about 7 or 8 cookbooks in my home but they are not mine they are my husbands and he loves them! He flicks through them every so often and then makes an evening of it by inviting our friends around and having a big meal but I don't really enjoy cooking so leave it to him most of the time! x

I've got quite a lot of cookbooks - used to buy these at sales. I love to look at the beautiful pictures of tasty-looking dishes, thinking that I could cook these dishes, when I have the time, or when I retire. However, I'm too caught up in my work; so we either eat outside, or I cook very simple or basic meals. Maybe one day, I'll look these books up

It seems like most of the recipies take quite a few ingredients. I need like a five ingredient or less cookbook.

I have about three cookbooks and it doesn`t seem that I am going to buy more. The recipes you can find online are mostly tested by other user and they add ingredients and pictures...
To my opinion this books are the only nobody needs anymore.

I used to have a lot of recipe books.
Now most of my recipes are by heart
and I do find recipes online that I love.
I started my own recipe and cooking blog
to showcase my favorites.

I have about 5 or 6 cookbooks, including the Better Homes & Gardens red and white plaid one that seems to pop up everywhere! I use them occasionally, but usually find my recipes online at bettycrocker.com, allrecipes.com, and many others. I did use the Better Homes & Gardens one the other day when I was making homemade jam and canning pickles! It had very simple recipes to use :)
