anyone have any experience on the drug propranolol? im taking it for migraines

well i tried some herbal stuff and it never worked and i am allergic to most migraine medicines and so far other than sleepiness but i still have my headache but im guessing maybe that it takes awhile before it sinks in??

yeah but usually the side affects that people get arent listed at least with people that have fibromyalgia or a lot of health problems at once.. i have looked through the leaflet and pill books and pill websites and then gone to a support group and everyone had the same side affect that WASNT listed lol.. im surprise this one is making me sleep all the time.. usually if it says it will keep me up i will fall asleep and if its suppose to make me drowsy i get insomnia lol.. sounds like a bad fit for you though but if you found a combo that works then great!! im on 20mgs 2x a day.. havent had a migraine but still have dull headaches so im hoping i wont stay so sleepy to where i have to cut back on it if its not totally knocking it out yet

you know it has worked for many patients ..no side effects

like what? i might have already tried it and if i havent i will checked it out

Dear it was six years ago.. I f you see a homeopath.. he would suggest you the medicine..it was made in Germany, by Dr.WILLMAR SCHWABE..try and get..I have great hope,it will work

I'm sorry! It's awful isn't it... you find something that helps the headaches, but then causes other side effects. For me the nightmares were really awful, to the point where I was afraid to go to sleep some nights, so I gave up on the med.

Next time you talk to your doc, ask him/her about Atenelol. I take 25mg per day and it seems to help quite a bit. I've been on it about 3 years now. I still get a few headaches now and then, but they're less frequent and milder than they were without the Atenelol.

yeah i will.. i think the nightmares are slowly going away but for a few days straight i did NOT want to sleep lol

my doc had mentioned maxalt but decided to put me on this one instead.. every time i try to up my intake of vitamins or herbs etc to help some one it seems like it works for like a week then stops

I cut back on the B2 (it turns your urine bright yellow by the way) and I am good at charting when my Migraines are apt to occur so I take it a few days before the onset of the migraine. I also have charted the foods that are triggers and cut back on those foods which have helped enormously.

Also, I have de-stressed my life as much as I possibly can, avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight which I found was a contributor to migraines. It takes a while to sort out everything, but it is worth the work.

she said this one had less side affects than others but it may be i cant be on much because i am on lamictal.. she mentioned that since that was an anti-seizure medication that some of the migraine meds are too and didnt want to put them together or something

well i usually check all the sites i know of but i tend to be a person that gets the rare and not listed side affects.. so i was hoping i would find out something that wasnt already listed so i would know that that was a possibility..

ugh imitrex is my enemy.. i felt like i was having a heart attack or stroke when i took that

i dont like it because it really dont work for me it seems to make the headache even worse, so when i go to the drs i am going to have to let them know, the wierd part is when i was pregnet i didnt get them and sence i had the baby 2 monthes ago i started getting them all over again.

hmm thats weird.. but then again a lot of health problems can go into a remission type thing while your pregnant
