HELP! There is a bat in my house!!

I have not had something like that happen before. I have only seen them flying around outside at night. But if you can find a way to keep it in one room and open the door or window that it came in by. Cut off the strong lights and it might find it's way out. I know they see better at night then with lights. If it's in the house it will try to find a dark spot. I hope it helps be safe and careful.

Turn out the lights, and turn on an outside light and open the door. That is the way we had gotten the last one out. I looked pretty silly, holding our front door open seeings as to how we live on a busy street, but it worked.

i am not a bat expert, but if you leave a window open, near where the bat stays at,then it might fly out the window.while it flies around your house, it might be eating insects that are in your house.

I would be going out of my mind screaming and running for cover I hate those things they creep me out. I get all creeped out just for a fly swooping by my head I'm swinging to get it away from me though my cat then comes to the rescue chaseing it and the games on and yes my cat wins. I praise him for it every time he is so good at catching things. I was gonna suggest you closeing it in a room but saw in one of your replis that your house is open so you can't do that hmmm...
I would call animal cotrol and have some one sent out to get it caught. I wish you the best of luck on this and may you have that bat caught soon for that's sounds creepy.:)

Unless you live in a tropical area and your bat might be a vampire you don't have to worry much about the poor little thing. It will find the way out any night if you leave the windows open. I don't thnk it can find much to eat inside the house. In this area every evening you can see many bats flying around, but I never heard of them getting inside a house.
