well i got this from my momma and well when ever you put something listed in your check book you just round up to the nearest dollar.. the odd cents extra that you arent counting build up in time and make a couple of hundred extra in your account to where if you have a mishap where a check or debit clears earlier than the deposit you have that to cover you bum.. BUT it will be annoying if you are the type that try to balance it and compare the totals and etc every month with the bank statement since it will be off but if you arent doing that all the time then this will work.. not to mention if you keep track of an estimate amount you think will be in there then after awhile you can use it on emergencies or to put back into your account.. one year i saved up like 600 bucks from doing this so it worked out great.. i took three hundred back and counted it and left the other 300 as a cushion..

ive been doing it like 7 years now and its been working great.. like i said the only drawback is if you are a person that wants to know exactly how much you have and try to balance it exactly every month by the statement but if you are always good about keeping it up to date you wont have to be that way since you would know by your numbers whats going on

That is a good idea! What I have to do is when I get to a balance of $25 I consider it empty. And I also keep up with every withdrawal and check, to the penny! I've done this method for several years and It's the only way that has worked for me!

I have done this for years and now my son does it too! He said he was surprised to find out how much extra they had in their checking account at the end of a month! It's a great savings plan if you can stick to it and not peek and find out how much extra you have!
