I have often found it easier and quicker to boil my vegetables. happy I microwave peas sometimes or sweetcorn.
I would consider steaming my vegetables if I had a steamer so that's one on my list of appliances to buy as this is apparently the best way to cook your vegetables without losing most of the vitamins and nutrients they containthumbup

Do you prefer to boil, steam or microwave your vegetables? Is it for convenience's sake or your preferred method of cooking vegetables?

I don't always have time to do it this way, but....

Steaming is the healthiest way to cook your veggies.
Boiling them would be second.
Microwaving them is quick, but not as healthy.

Most of the time I boil mine. I never feel like messing with getting the steamer out, since I have very little counter space, I have to put it away in the cabinet.

I have that problem as well. So I use the top of my chest freezer and the top of my washer as added counter space. I end up having to shuffle things back and forth as I need to get to the freezer or washer, lol.

I bought myself a microwavable veggie steamer for about $8 at Walmart, and use it almost daily.
I recently bought an actual rice steamer that does veggies as well, but have only used it once. I will get more use out of it as soon as I figure out how it works, lol.

I'm pretty sure almost any rice steamer will do veggies as well.

It depends on what vegetable I am preparing. Corn on the cob, zucchini, green beans, broccoli I usually steam. I like them a little crisp not soggy. For asparagus I like to broil it or fry it quickly in a skillet with olive oil and spices. I also like to grill veges on a rack in our bbq. I never boil vegetables... and I only nuke my veges if I am in a real pinch for time.

I will useally either boil or microwave my vegetables when cooking them. I am not a picky person as long as they come out good and hot that's all I care about.
I try to watch the timeing I put them in for when doing it this way for if you over cook them then they can taste rather gross. I love my veggies and will try to cook them with every meal.

I microwave steam them. I put a bit of water in the bottom of the bowl and cook them until things are they're still a bit crunchy. I don't like to boil them, and I get the same results, but faster, in the microwave that I do in my steamer.

I usually microwave my vegetables with a cover over them so that they end up steamed. I have both steamed and microwaved my vegetables and there is virtually no difference. To steam them outside the microwave, I just bought this little steaming thing and placed it in the bottom of a saucepan with some water and covered it. The little thing I bought really wasn't that expensive, only a few dollars. But, microwaving it does the exact same job. I don't believe all that garb about microwaving vegetables taking away the nutrients. If you do it right, it's pretty close to steamed.

I prefer steam, I could be wrong but I think that's the best way to cook them to keep in the nurtients. I do know that when you cook them if you cook them too long you can cook the nurtients out

I prefer my vegetables to be boiled. But what I do is that I boiled them half-cooked. I read from an article that overcooked or overboiled vegetables tends to lose its nutrients. Sine I am a healthy buff, I make sure that what I eat is healthy. I also eat fresh vegetables, like vegetable salad but I rather eat them boiled. I only used microwave to heat my foods. happy
