Our boss told us not to take coffee breaks anymore

It has been a busy month for all of us here at our office. The clients are getting impatient on us and because of that our boss told us that we should work more and to even use our coffee break time to do more work. I was really angry of what she said. If that was told to you how would you react? What would you do? I'm not following her though because I'm munching on a cookie in my cubicle now.

hey that's bad..everyone is entitled to have their own breaks..what if you get very dizzy because you are hungry? you will not do anything correctly if you have an empty stomach! you will not be able to serve your customers too if you fainted due to hungriness that you are feeling..she should have think before ordering her staff to use their breaks to serve clients..it is not right. just eat there and do not be guilty.

AFAIK,Employees are entitled to statutory breaks during the working day, whatever their business..You NEED a break! You've been there a while, and should know what the deal is with lunch, coffee and smoke break entitlements..I don't really think denying you a coffee break is helping improve office productivity somehow! Good luck with the Rebellion!

I think you should compromise an agreement with her. Maybe you could try talking that without coffee breaks might even have an effect on how things are done especially if the work you're in is very stressful job you definitely need a break at one point in time during your working hours. Maybe you could make a breaktime that is not done at the same time. One employee will have a break and others will work then after your break time is over another employee will have his break and you will take over her job. Maybe that could work okay with you.

Your boss is ignorant of the labor law. Her instruction is very stupid, she just thinks that you and the rest of her staff are robots. What about her? did she also not use her break time? Instead of looking for a solution to have the work done in time, she resorted to deprived her staff of the break, what a brilliant idea. . Every work place is the same,it is geared up for speed and the most places though running flat out are still not up to scratch, and the bosses seem to want more and more. There are certain rules and regulations in place that say that you can only work for so many hours before you have a break,if no one took breakes there would be many more accidents in the workplace.

I totally agree with what you said, it seems that bosses want more work to be done at fastest time even if that means sacrificing coffee break times. Thanks for responding

Your boss is cruel. In order for the employee to be more active, she must allowed her employee to have coffee breaks. It will make the workers more productive.
