I grew up watching Sesame Street in black and white television. Big bird, Bert and Ernie, Oscar and Cookie monster. They are some of the interesting characters in this famous kid's show. I remember being glued to my seat and staring without blinking everytime the show is on telecast. It has a big influence on me secially seeing other kids, people and places.

I love sesame street even as an adult.I watched it growing up and my daughter watched it when she was little too. Do you remember some of the lesser known characters? Like Guy Smiley? The honkers? Those funny aliens that said yip yip yipyip? and of course who can forget snuffleupplegus? Now days my favorites are elmo and zoey. And all the guest stars. A lot of valuable life lessons were learned from sesame street. Oh and some great songs like "who are the people in your neighborhood" and "rubber ducky" among many others.

My kids watched Sesame Street when they were little. They loved it. I thought it was very good for them as well as Mister Rogers. It really helped them with their reading and counting. My grandkids also spent time watching Sesame Street. I would set down and watch with the kids. It was fun to watch Kermit and Miss Piggy.

Yes I am. As a matter of fact I watched it this morning with my daughter. They had a wonderful episode on. It was on Jealousy of younger siblings. Which is pretty timely, since we are having a baby in December. It is a wonderful show. And I watched as a kid too.

Yeah, I am familiar with Sesame Street. At that time I was just a kindergarten student and I was in the United States following my parents because my father was taking his degrees and masters. Every morning while breakfast I would watch sesame street before my mom send me to school. I love all the characters in sesame street, and my friends at school love them all too.

Yes, its really a big influence on my younger years too. I am just sad that it is not as popular as it was before. I think it has lost its popularity now since I do not see the show as often as it used to be when i was young.

Yes I loved Sesame Street!!! I watched it until I was like 14 , and just recently started watching play with me Sesame with my children. Someone else said that its not as popular as it used to be, and watching it now I think I know why. Back in the day there were many stars that used to guest star on the show. It was like you had to be on Sesame Street once you reached a certain status. Also they did a lot of music videos, so it was fun to sing along. Now not as many stars are on the show, and they don't do as much music. There are songs, mind you, and they show some of the ones from back in the day. But when they do they are watered down, cut up versions of the originals. They took a lot of the good old fun that was there in Sesame Street, and tried to replace it with modern stuff. I think that is why they aren't as popular as they used to be.

I believe that those who have lived 30 years or less have spent their childhood years with Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Ernie and Bert and Elmo. Who wouldn't know these great names in the Sesame Street? And they are more than children's friends, they are great symbols of learning too.

I'm kind of old for sesame street, but I did watch it with little kids before. They seemed to learn sooo much. It's cool that they added Spanish and some sign language. In my area, there is a French version, too. It is a really, really cool show.

i loved them when i was a kid. I remeber asking my mom for a cookie monster. Her asking me why. I told her that I want him because he loved cookies as much as i did and he could get me cookies when I wanted them. Now i got kids 4 girls . they all watched it as they started growing up. My little girl named one of her pets one time after one of the characters.. she named it ZOE.

when I was really little, I used to watch it too. I bet it was quite a while ago that it was shown in black and white. How did you like it, once it was shown in colour? It must have been neat to see all of those characters in living colour. :)
