|  Well, when I won these concert tickets from the radio station, I assumed they'd be great seats. I'm not sure why, I just assumed that the radio station gave out better seats.
The venue we went to was rather interesting. There was a rather small seating area, and directly above that was a balcony seating area. Behind that was a "lawn area". No seats on the lawn area, you basically bring a chair and first come, first serve. It was still a decent view, and the lawn area was entirely hill, so it wasn't too bad so far as people getting in your way.
We weren't really expecting this, so we didn't bring chairs. Most times they will arrange seating for these type concerts, but not this venue.
It was a bit disappointing at first, especially since the lawn area was completely covered in mud due to recent rain.. but we enjoyed ourselves anyways.
I can't complain too much. We spent a total of $60 (mostly on gas and tolls) to see Maroon 5 and Counting Crows perform!! And we got a night away from the kids.
Have you ever been slightly disappointed in free tickets you recieved from a contest or something else?

| | Well yes, that's what I assumed as well. I thought we would be somewhere in the first 10 rows.. I didn't hope for first row.. but somewhere close is what I assumed. We were rather disappointed at first, but yeah, they were free tickets, and it's not the radio stations fault, they give you what they get from the promoters.

| |  So you had to stand up the whole time? I would have been very disappointed. It's nice to get free tickets, but there should have been better communication about what you really received. Perhaps it wasn't the radio station's fault, though. This was a promotion by the agent/manager of the groups singing and probably didn't make it clear to the radio station what they were giving away. But, you did get to see the concert free. That was nice.

| | Yes we stood up the whole time, and honestly the fault is on the venue itself, not any particular people. That's just the way this venue is set up, for all of their concerts. Other people obviously knew better because they brought their lawn chairs.

| | It sounds like the amphitheater here. I've never been, but my daughter has. She said the seats are all built into the mountain, out in the open. I don't know that they have places for lawn chairs, though. Guess I need to ask her. | | | |

| |  you know what gets me? is that you are complaining about something that was given to you without you having to pay for it. oh the ground was muddy- oh we werent close to the stage- well let me tell you something here okay- i live in hawaii- there are NO CONCERTS that come out this far. None- except really bad hawaiian style bands that are over with before they began cause the groups get too stoned.
the only concert i have been to here- was Red Hot Chili Peppers and that was over in Maui- so not only do you have to buy a plane ticket which is over a 150 buck but you need a place to stay, food, and oh yeah the tickets. what i am saying is you lucked out big time. Imagine buying all the things you need just to have the band cancell at the last minute due to poor scheduling due to the manager. that is what happened with Aerosmith. so i want you to take into account that some places DONT get what you get and to be greatful at an opportunity when it comes around- despite the conditions at which seem pointless like mud-

| | you said it yourself you didn't complain much- i was simply saying that if i was there and had gotten the tickets for FREE i would not have complained at all. and you should fallow your own advise and read before you post. I had read all of what your discussion was and only then responded. as for my rating- who cares. I dont have time to be on here every day all day. hince the 200 posts for 2 months of being a member.
and if you had read what i had put in my orginal post, then you would see that we dont get alot of concerts out here and it is something called JELOUSY- that's right i am totally bummed that you got to see Maroon and Counting Crows. i would have love to have been in your shoes. | | | |
