My username is just my first name and birth year! How "uncreative" am I?

I have noticed a varying use of usernames on this site and find some of them very entertaining and very clever! I have chosen a very straightforward and I guess boring way to choose my username by using my first name and the last two digits of my birth year.
I consider myself a creative person most of the time yet I seemed to have lacked creative inspiration in this case! What inspired your username? Is it a username that is commonly used with many other sites as well? Maybe I should have put a little more thought into mine! lol.

james1949, my husband's name and birth year, we are so creative.. But when you get a few years on you, it is easier to have something that is easy to remember..

I usually like to use my own name too, James, it makes things a whole lot easier.
My kids and I were getting ready to play an online Scrabble game and for some reason I could not use my name, I don't remember why, maybe I was just in the mood for something different. At any rate I couldn't think of anything and my kids were getting really impatient with me. Then my eyes landed on the packet of zigzag rolling papers sitting on my desk in front of the exotically carved buddha head candle that had one day just appeared in my possessions. I have no idea where it came from, but anyway, that was the birth of this username. And I like it so much that I use it everywhere, although I am having second thoughts these days as it gives people the idea that I am a Buddhist, which I am not.

I like your user name very much! It reminds me of one of my favourite quotes by Frank Moore Colby - "A lopsided man runs fastest up the little sidehills of success!" I am not quite sure why it reminds me of this; but when I saw your username this was an instant comparison. And if people do think you are a Buddhist, then at least you have a good conversation starter! Thanks for responding.

I am happy that you like the quote and others by Frank Moore Colby! He certainly has an interesting perpsective on life! As for my avatar, I found it a LONG time ago when I was a member of a stock photo site. It represents a long tail of a chameleon..... The chameleon is of significance to me because it adapts to it's environment; which in a way is what I have had to do personally as this is the fourth country in 3 or so years that I have had to learn to live in. The long tail is also a marketing term used to decribe content and information that exists outside of mainstream or mass market contents etc. I too consider myself to be non-mainstream so this is tied in as well to the reasoning why I chose this avatar! Quite complex really! lol. I am happy to hear that the avatar creates a sense of familiarity with you and I hope it does so for others also!

I had never heard of Frank Moore Colby until you mentioned him here, and I do not mind at all your associating my username with the lopsided man quote, hehehe. I went and looked him up online and found a page of other quotes by him. Here is the one I like the best: Talk ought always to run obliquely, not nose to nose with no chance of mental escape.
At the same time that my username has reminded you of something that you can 'put your finger on', your avatar reminds me of something that I cannot. It gives me a very emphatic feeling of familiarity when I look at it, but I just cannot place it! The feeling is there like a strong presence in the periphery of my mind, but I simply cannot identify it. It is almost driving me crazy! Where did you find that avatar?

Considering the fact that I am a kindergarten teacher, one would have thought I could be creative...lol.....I reserve all my creative energies for school!
My user name is just the first letter of my first name and my surname (which is also my maiden name).
Now how uncreative is that?

And so you should reserve those creative enrgies for the kids! Anything that keeps them busy and quiet should not go to waste! lol. You have used similar reasoning to me it seems but you chose not to include a birth year; and I chose not to use my surname! So we can basically consider ourselves equally uncreative then! Thanks for responding.

I gave myself this name in my youth. Unfortunately for me I'm not the only one who came up with it, but there are still places I've secured for this name.
I don't see anything wrong with your ID James. If that's what worked for you, then that's that. Its too bad name changes can't be done here though.

Well at least you are the only one with this name on here! Even if I could change my name on here I don't think I would. And I have not seen it elsewhere so far so even though it may not be overly creative it does seem to be a little unique I guess! Thanks for responding.

Hi James,
My username is actually my first name followed by the first iniital of my sirname and the numbers signify a year.I use the same id in a number of other sites as well. Thinking back the numbers signify the year my first e mail id was created. I think its about conveneince more than about creativity. Well i sure would not change it, and it really would make no difference on how creative the name is to me. It's the content of the posts and the friendliness of the people that finally matters.

Mine is my actual name, I could not be bothered to try and come up with anything else!

It means small in my dialect and now that I'm a lot bigger, I wish I'm back to the times when I lived up to my nickname.
