Got Milk?

I have no idea why, but at 10:30 tonight I decided to bake a pan of brownies. They are cooling now so it will still be a little while before I can eat any, and if I do have one with a glass of milk, it won't sit right on my tummy, so I guess I'll be up for a while yet. So, who wants to stay up and join me for myLot'ing and brownies and milk?

never been interested in cooking in the past but i have seen some very impressive cake mixes in the supermarket lately so I bought this one that is called an apple crumble cake, it is just normal cake mix and it has a sachet of apple and a sachet of crumble you just mix with butter, so I bought one and made it the other night, it was so yummy it has inspired me to bake cakes....so i went out to buys some more today...

You will have to tell us about the crockpot one, it is for me. I think I will be making pear crisp a lot this winter. I have a recipe, somewhere, that uses ginger snaps, and it is yummy.

Sounds yummy. I haven't bought apples in a while now, but I've made several different types of apple crisp that are really good. One of them is so easy and it's done in a crock pot.

OK Lady, you gotta share that crock pot crisp. How do you "crisp" anything in a crock pot. I NEED that recipe! It's too hot to use the oven.

I'm on my way over Ldyjarhead. I love warm brownies with a nice tall glass of milk. And to tell you the truth I find that brownies are way better when you make them at night. They just don't taste right if you make them during the day. So hold off on them brownies and I will get my little hiney on the move and will be there shortly.

Yum! It sure sounds good. Virtual brownies are certainly the only kind I need..lol. They make my blood sugar go sky high. Why don't you eat one for me?

Problem is, I shouldn't be eating them either, and certainly not this late at night. I'll be starting another discussion tomorrow about my tummy ache or weird dreams, I'm sure.

Hi Marie Anne, As usual with your baking, I'm getting real hungry!!! Of course the fact that I haven't eaten dinner yet might have something to do with it. lol I'm a night owl, so we eat late anyway, but those brownies sure do sound good! I'll be right over! Happy MyLotting, Char

I would love to. Wanted one last night. Hubby is home from work and it is his turn to be online. We are ordering a new cord for the laptop tomorrow, then I will not have to share anymore.. I found hot spicy popcorn when I was cleaning the cupboard, and I ate it all. I am going to read.

Spicy popcorn? I don't think I've heard of that. I'm not into spicy stuff, but that sounds interesting. I nuked some popcorn this afternoon and sprinkled a little parmesan on it. I'm headed to bed with a book shortly too. Hope the brownies don't give me a problem.

How do you make your brownies? I find they're much richer if I use cocoa and margarine than if I use the semi-sweet chocolate squares. Mmmm, brownies and milk have to be one of life's greatest treats!

Grandpa Bob, another myLotter, mentioned putting chocolate chips in his brownies and that sounds good, too. I like your ideas, maybe put marshmallows on top as they cool so they'll get nice and sticky! Mooshie isn't a word but I like it!

I usually cheat and just use a mix for brownies anymore, since they're so cheap. I usually add walnuts, and sometimes chocolate chips or some other flavor. I added marshmallows once but they made them mooshie (is that a word?).

Hey Ldyjarhead... NO FAIR! Why'd you have to go and tell me you baked yummy brownies?! Brownies are my absolute favorite... it is extremely difficult for me to say no to a plate of brownies! I hope you enjoyed your little snack last night. It sounds soooo good! Did you make them from a box mix or from scratch? I really need to learn how to make more things from scratch. I am sure it would be better for me and my family. Some of those boxed foods contain so many things in the ingredients that probably shouldn't be consumed by even a rodent! LoL

I usually cheat and keep boxed mixes on hand since they're so cheap at Aldi's. I do think scratch is better, but I don't always have baking chocolate on hand.

Once we get settled in our new place I really need to try to teach myself how to do "some" cooking from scratch. Wish me luck! I like my brownies plain... sometimes with walnuts. I usually do not like frosting on mine. I think it takes away from the taste of the brownie itself. But, that doesn't mean if there is a brownie with frosting in front of me that I won't eat it! LoL :)

Oh, I'd love to!!! That sounds so yummy! I just can't predict when I'm going to be awake or when I'll need a nap. That's pretty much all I do now... nap. I hardly ever get a good night's sleep anymore. If I happen to be up at that time, I'll certainly join you! I actually have a brownie mix in the kitchen, so I may just bake my own so we can enjoy them together! To heck with the calories! Let's enjoy ourselves!!!

I have not made brownies for some time. I would have to hide most of them or put them in the freezer. I could save them for when I have to do baking for our women;s society, but now that our church has a no nut policy, brownies do not taste as good with nuts. Well I guess that does beat chocolate milk and it would be delicious. So maybe I will drop over. Oh and I love brownies so please just have an extra one out for me and I love walnuts or pecans in mine.

I put walnuts in mine last night, so come on! I may have to put some of these in the freezer too if others don't show up soon. I'll eat the pan if they're not hidden.

No frosting for me, just nuts. I was a good girl and only had one with a half glass of milk, but that pan is still sitting there tempting me this morning. Think I better have a bowl of cereal or something first, though.

Great minds must really think alike because about three ours ago I decided to make some brownies for the five kids I'm babysitting this weekend. They are the fudge kind and they are super duper yummy. Do you have a particular recipe for yours or do you use the box recipe? Mine is the Dunkin Hines kind because I cannot bake without the mix and bake stuff haha

Since they're so cheap at Aldi's, I just buy the mix that they have and usually keep a box or two on hand. I much prefer things made from scratch, but these are fine, but I usually add nuts, and sometimes chocolate, peanut butter or butterscotch chips.

That sounds good, a chocolate brownie with a glass of milk, I don't like milk, because I'm lactose intolerant, but I always liked it with either a brownie or peanut butter cookies, it reminds me of when I was a kid. I have been meaning to make some oatmeal raisin cookies with walnuts for the past week, but just haven't gotten around to it, I have everything I need, my poor hubby's still waiting on them...lol. have a good night..I should say
