hi bala, how are you........ I think instead of getting angry or irritated by such people, I will pity them, because only those people copy who know nothing.......by doing such things people not only prove their thier lack of knowledge but also loose their self-respect.......so I would just leave them alone as they are not intelligent but.....ignorant.

Dearest I would have reported him in case it was dliberate plagiarism. But I get that its not exactly that, so I would rather chill out and concentrate on the rains and rainbows that's so prevalent in the city right now. After all we do not get to enjoy it often! Throwing sprinkles of rains and fistful of rainbows to you dear. PS: Had I been in an offputing mood I would have jumped into a lengthy brawl...lol...

Oh you feel it! Isn't it so beautiful! Hope you are just doing fine and not thinking much about the soul who has been so annoyingly stupid to have copied your post! Just look above, stetch back and try to figure out why the sky is so cheerful today. And when you get it, write back to me... smiles... lots of smiles...

These people are obviously uncreative, and unethical. Its happened to me and its wrong - sometimes they copy and paste and put it on other forums. Other times they copy it from actual online newspaper articles.

Hi bala, nice to see you. How are you? I will just ignore it, I just want to have fun here and enjoy it with friends here and wouldn't want to bother about all this.

A lot of people seem to have a real problem with this. More often than not, it's totally coincidental. I've made posts a few times and later found that someone else had posted practically or exactly the same thing a month or more before, and I'd never seen theirs. We're not writing fine literature in these posts, so there's bound to be quite a bit of overlap. I think it's sort of funny most of the time.

Actually there are people who not only copy and paste articles from the web - not their own, but actually fully copy and paste somene else entire thread. Itns not coincidental its word for word. Many times you can tell because their own posts are full of language mistakes and usually shortened words and such but their copy and pastes are well written.

I guess I'm really naive. I still don't think it's something horrible they've done; just a bit desperate!

I have also frequently noticed this. Many times my discussions were copied in a clever and twisting way by some. Sometimes it happens also by coincidence. When mylot permits it you and i cannot do anything. We have to live with it!

In truth I guess I would feel flattered at first that someone obviously admires my style of writing and discussion type to base their discussion on it, they must look up to you is one explanation that I would think of first, then I would probably think bloody cheeky if you ask me, but would it constitute plaigerism? Depending how it is worded, if whole chunks of the discussion were dissected then I would say probably yes, as to whether I would report it? Well it did happen once and fortunately one of my friends alerted me to it! But the person couldn't even be bothered to change one single word of my original discussion so it got deleted! I mean use some sense if you are going to do this don't make it so bleeding obvious LOL! And you just might get away with it.

Well that depends...if it is a true copy/paste exact copy then I would report them, simple as that. It's against the rules to completely steal another user's post. But if someone else just happened to have the same idea as me....I'd shrug it off as me picking a not very original idea. There are a lot of people here and we are all human and live on the same planet, we are bound to have similar ideas. Myklj! Where are you! You answer this question better than I do!

I actually had some blatant a-hole copy/paste one of my discussions word for word once....It was a very serious discussion too of a highly personal matter. I wouldn't have known about it but a friend of mine here pointed it out to me...we reported him as blatantly copying my discussion --needless to say his "discussion" was deleted. Unless your discussion is copied/pasted the exact same way there's really not much you can do...you wouldn't be able to prove that the person really did copy/paste your discussion -- it could be the person had the same idea as yours maybe though and it just seems he/she copied it

Well, I would feel bad for this particular person because it indicates that this person has no imagination to start his own original discussions.

It has happened to me and made me very annoyed and upset that someone couldn't be imaginative to make thier own discussion but now look back and its history and no longer is a problem to me...littleowl

My first reaction would be resentment and i would of course feel mad about it not only at the one whom i think copied but also at myLot for not doing something to prevent such things from happening. But come to think of it, there's a possibility that there was no copying done and that the person who posted the same discussion but in different words could have done so without knowing it is the same topic earier posted by someone else. I have noticed a lot of discussions posted on the same topic and I realize it is very possible that the person is innocent and did not at all copy. Personally, i have experienced having posted a topic for discussion and after the same was posted i found out there were not one but several discussions posted on the same topic but presented in different ways. So my friend balasri, lets give the other mylotters the benefit of the doubt. Happy posting!

I haven't got an idea. I'm not sure if my discussions are copied or asked, I mean sometimes I don't even know the discussions I posted have already posted by others, though fortunately, it didn't look like I copied it coz the words are different, just the ideas the same. I mean I think we can't do anything about it. If it happened to me, guess I'd be flattered, and somewhat pissed, lol, but I'd control it and think everybody's a friend. Have fun mylotting!
