Just because you love animals doesnt mean your house should smell like it!  

My thoughts exactly my friend. I think if you are going to have a pet, you need to take care of all its needs. Plus its not healthy to have the urine smell lingering in your home. It can cause breathing difficulties. If everyone thought about things as you do, we would be much better off. That's for sure. dl

You should write a book my friend. My neighbors have one cat and their house smells as if they have a million. It's so nasty. People have to realize that its bad for the animals as well. They need to have a clean environment as well. I have a friend who doesnt have alot of money. She buys the inexpensive litter. Her house never smells bad. People always blame it on using cheap litter. You could use dirt from outside as long as you stay on it. You are a true pet lover. Its nice to know that someone else besides me cares. Thanks dl

YES, I wouldn't let my babies play on the floor with floors washed with chemicals which would make them sick as kids lick anything For so long as I can remember I have been doing this either vinegar or lemon juice..really refreshes the house too..smells good and keeps odors in check.
I pass the swifer to pick up the hairs and just throw in the garbage, thus saves using the vacuum and electricity.
If you want to save over a 1000<$ a year electricity..unplug all you don't need..just closing your night lights..58$ yu save a year.
I unplug my appliances such as, my toaster, coffee, washer, dryer as the plugs are in between them and high so it is easy for me to reach.
The only thing that stays plugged 24 hours is my fridge, stove and my pc and tv. I was shocked at the amount of money I pay. I am on a budget plan and it went from 60$ a month to 15$.
And now my budget plan went down to 38$.look at the savings and it also helps to save electricity.Write a book? Yep I could write books on many subjects..I knooooooow so much and lots of it is logic..when you care for others and animals, you think of how to make their life long and healthy..if u saw my cats you would be amazed how beautiful they look and healthy.
I give them only dry food, sardines once a week, yogurt every day and I have a reciepie for a medicine that I have been making since about 15yrs that keep your body cancer free, give you essential vitamens, good for the womb, the blood, the prostrate, the brain, the cells, good for super active kids..etc etc. My bones are that of a 30 yr old and doctors are always surprised that even my blood is not that of a 64 yr old woman.

I respect your honesty. I also admire your decision not to own a pet. Your reasons are commendable. So may people dont realize the responsibility that comes with a pet. Its another living thing that you have to be responsible for. Its better now adays people have become more aware of the problems or responsibilities that come with owning pets. Its all about awareness. If people cant afford to take care of themselves properly or in a manner that they would like, they shouldnt own a pet until they have their own lives in tact. You are sooo right! People make me so mad when they get a kitten or puppy or whatever then as it grows up and the newness wears off, they dont do anything but feed it. I wish someone could do the same to them and then they'd see. I hope lol thanks dl

You have said it all!!!! I sometimes dont understand people. I think that most people enjoy animals when they are babies. Once they grow up and become bigger, People tend to lose interest. I wish that the breeder's, pet stores, or anyone selling or giving a pet away should make sur that the people taking the animal are aware of how big the pet will get, what caring for this specific pet involves, and how much you spend on its care. Most importantly they should let them know how the animal lives now and what he/she is used to. This way the family realizes what they are getting into. thanks.dl

It really is sad. Imagine how it would feel if we had to go to the bathroom on top of the waste we did the day before. Gross!!! We should treat animals as we would like to be treated. Its only fair to give a pet the best life possible. thanks dl

I agree! I think that is a form of abuse. Not to mention just plain nasty. I dont think that anyone has any reason to live that way. There are so many organizations that help with animals. People need to think realistically as to whether or not they can afford a pet in long term. Its unfair to take on an animal because you think they're cute. If a person cant afford to feed themselves, 9 out of 10 they will have a problem feeding an animal. I am going thru some tough times right now. I am doing all I can to keep it together. So I do know both sides of the fence. That's why I always stock up when I have extra cash on hand and coupons. There are also sites that offer free coupons for bags of food. A very good idea. If people do use cat boxes, try to scoop the poop. lol. It helps with the odor. I also use the cheap kind and change it frequently. That works for me. dl
