By the time Halloween rolls around I will be 8 months along. I am not to found of the idea of painting a jack-o-lantern on my belly. Anyone else faced this holiday pregnant? What did you do?

LOL, a jack'o'lantern on your belly? While a cute idea, I agree--no way! I was 3 months pregnant (and looked like 6) with my son, and I went as Tinkerbell. I made my dress, just used a pattern for a tunic shirt and cut it long and jagged. I didn't even finish off the hem, cuffs, or neckline, just left them in the "fringed" jagged way her dress is. I left it loose enough to tie a pretty silver wide ribbon between my boobs and out-to-there belly, so my dress flared at the bottom and gave me a bit of Tink's figure...well, a pregnant Tink's figure, anyway. To cut AND sew it together only took me 20 min, and no, I'm not a seamstress! What is your daughter going as? If she's going as a princess (lots of little girls do) you could dress up as a lady-in-waiting or the queen. Those wouldn't matter if you were pregnant or not. Perhaps another fairy, or even a hobgoblin! You could pull different pieces for a costume from things you already have, or can purchase cheaply. Just use some imagination and squint at things (lol) and you'll have your costume in no time. P.S. You could go as a cowgirl. Jeans, hat, thrift-store vest with homemade fringe, boots (or sneakers), and a "lasso", and you'll be the most comfortable pregnant trick-or-treating cowgirl out there! You can also get one of those horse-head broom-stick type of thing, but that just depends on how far you want to run with it!

I like the traditional pumpkin/jack-o-lantern belly thing. :) I guess that's too predictable. Maybe an apple with a green worm popping out.

I don't know what anyone else suggested since I am answering from email..but you could go as a ghost..a white sweat suit a little white paint..and take a few BOO! BOO! BOO! made of foam or construction paper and pin it on the front of top and our good to go. Or you can go as the moon..and pin a few bats on to you..Or a Black sweat suit and be a bat or spider or a cat..I like the idea of the cat...take a liner do a few whiskers and whala your set..

I didn't dress up for Halloween when I was pregnant. Never thought of it. How not fun am I? Okay a couple of ideas. How about a penguin or a bunny? Or Do something clever with the idea "a bun in the oven". Let us know what you come up with.

My nephew took lots of pictures of his very pregnant wife last Halloween, because she dressed as a pumpkin! She'd considered a baggy clown suit, too. I think the choices are only limited by your ability to sew; ready-made costumes are usually made for thin people. I think I'd like to go as a cuddly toy if I were pregnant, such as a teddy bear or a bunny! Have fun!

I have seen girls dress as nuns - might be in bad taste but funny nonetheless.
