How long before you wear out a pair of tennis shoes?

My hubby can make a pair last a bit over a year. Depending on the brand I buy I can make a pair last about 1/2 that time. What about you? I was amazed. My mother had a pair that was almost a decade old. And in pretty good shape. She just didn't wear them every day, obviously.

Hello dear ersmommy. I don't have a pair of tennis shoes, but I have pairs of casual shoes. Usually I can wear them out in a couple of years or longer, because I don't wear always them. I have a few pairs for a change. That is my secret of lasting them a longer time.

Generally, a year, I think. I also try to walk my dog. When I do well with that, I tend to wear them out in a few months. My dog can walk a lot.

Well since I don't wear shoes unless I go somewhere and I don't go anywhere much, a pair of shoes will last me about 5 years or more. In the summer I tend to wear alot of summer shoes like flops, sandals and stuff and wear the other types of shoes for cooler weather. I love going barefoot.. If I wear shoes they are off as soon as I hit the door. I guess it saves alot of wear and tear on shoes..and saves me money..My husband however gets 2 pairs of shoes and a pair of boots yearly. He works a carpenter.

It all depends on the type of shoe they are and what I use them for. some of my shoes are very expensive and my other shoes are fairly cheap and I use those for cutting grass or working in the yard. Those don't last long after being washed so many times. My higher priced shoes last about one year.
