Father Tries Force Kids To Kill The Family Cat While Intoxicated...

I honestly don't think being "that drunk" has anything to do with it- I can remember being quite intoxicated and NEVER thinking of hurting an animal or person- I mean really- what did he really get out of hurting this poor animal- was it enjoyment- because if that is the case- should he really even be allowed around his children?????

Well, what we're trying to say is that he just should never have been this drunk in front of his kids PERIOD...There's not excuse for it, even if he hadn't done what he did to the cat...

As for what he did to the cat and in front of his kids, well, it's just disgusting and I don't care what excuses he comes up with about not being able to remember because he was intoxicated, he has mental problems. Like you and even myself brought out, I have been around people who have been intoxicated and never have I seen any of them try to do what this man did. You have to already have some major mental problems to do it, even when drunk!!!

EXACTLY MY POINT mcat!!! Serial killers usually have a history of starting off torturing and killing innocent animals before moving on to people. I too hope he does get a judge who sees the severity of this crime for what it REALLY is!

I'm with you both 100%...What he did was not in any way, shape or form at all normal. I don't care what he claims was the cause of it, normal people, drunk or not, do not torture living things. He needs to be put away before he moves on to torturing people...The whole situation is sick if you ask me...

He definitely needs some phiciatric help, without a doubt...

I wonder where the mom was through all of this? My guess is that she was probably at work. One can only hope that she is the better parent and will be able to love and help these kids through this icky situation...Though, one does have to wonder why she would leave her kids with a man like this, father or not!!!

Isn't that the truth! My guess is those kids probably have been abused in the past and now he'll probably not only get hit with an animal abuse charge, but child abuse investigation.

I doubt these kids will ever be able to fully recover from it but hopefully the mother is the sane one and will help these kids through the trauma of it all...

You are sooo right about animal laws lacking!!!! I get so upset when I hear about the torture of animals and the little attention it gets from the court system. Why is animal cruelity not up there with child abuse???? It really should be!

Well, I think the article stated that they're pushing for jail time but you're probably right sadly, this guy will get to walk most likely. I can't imagine this man being let out on the streets, it's just too sick to consider...

They definitely need better laws to protect animals. There's too much animal abuse going around and it's just so sad! Plus, what these kids had to endure by a man who sadly calls himself father, is just so incredibly disgraceful!!!

Some say that drinking brings out the real you in a way- and this is very scary to think that this man is this violent! I wonder if there is abuse going on in the home already?

I definitely wouldn't be surprised if there was already abuse present in the home already...It makes one wonder where the mother was in all this and why she would continue to let this man around her children. He is NO father, I don't care what she thinks. This is not the type of father that any good mother wants their children around...

I'm starting to wonder if these kids should even be left with their mother. What kind of mother keeps a man like this in the home??? I don't care if he's their father because this is not the kind of father you want to subject your kids to. One can only hope that these kids have some sort of normal family member that they can be placed with who will help them through the trauma they were force to witness...

I agree, 18 months is not long enough for what this man did. I, for one, hope that he's never allowed around these kids again and if they do let these kids back in his presence, I think it would be the sickest and cruelest thing that could do to these kids....

He sets a terrible examples humankind, let alone his kids...

These kids do not need to be around this man and I hope and pray that the powers that be never allow that to happen...

I agree, a crime like this doesn't stem from being intoxicated, it stems from a very sick and twisted mind, which this man clearly had before he put the bottle to his lips...I think that he should have never been drinking in front of his kids but clearly he has issues and so, it doesn't surprise me really that he was but it makes one wonder what the mother was thinking for leaving these kids with this man, I don't care if he or she calls him the father, this is not a person (father or not) that you want to subject innocent children too.

One can only hope that these kids have some family members who have brains and who are stable and that they can be placed with these individuals to help them get through this awful mess....
