Do you go back and thank someone when they choose you as a best response?

I agree! It doesn't take much at all to express gratitude. I am surprised at myself actually that I have not been doing this when it comes to best responses because I do it everywhere else! Thanks for responding.

I always send a reply to all my responses.
How long I write,depends on what I thought about them.

I too respond to all replies. I use a similar principle to you for this as well. The longer their reply the longer my response to it generally!

I don' even remember the first time I ever received a best response but I do know that I would have been happy about it because I still get happy about it today! I have been a member of mylot for over two years and is still gives me a buzz. especially when there have been many responses to choose from. I am going to try to make more of an effort myself to be grateful. Thanks for responding.

I am guilty like you in not saying thankyou for a best response. I always try to go through the resposes to my discussions every week or so and thank every one but I am always so surprised when I get a best response that I forget to thank them. So if anyone has given me a best response and are reading this. I apologise for not thanking them. I will do so in future.

Ooooh! A MASS thank you and I get to bear witness! Sometimes we can get all caught up in mylotting and overlook best response awards every now and then so I don't think you're alone here wanderer.

I think you will find that the guidelines state that you should not JUST say thank you as a reply to a response. I never do that but I do acknowledge what has been said, discuss some more on the point made if it is appropriate and THEN say thank you. Much the same as I am doing now. There is no issue with doing this and if anything it inspires further discussion! Thanks for responding.

I understand thats what the guidelines say..which is probably why it just drives me when i see a discussion posted then every response from the original poster is "thank you" or "thanks for sharing".

Yes I don't really like to see that either. It is far better to at least make a comment on what has been said as well. Good night and I hope to see you in more discussions!

I understand perfectly well! It is a good habit to develop and we should all be grateful if we are acknowledged by someone else for our contribution to their posts. Thanks for responding.

I think I will be looking to thank them in the discussion itself rather than through a private message. They award me a best response so I will say thank you in their discussion itself and bump their discussion further up the ladder in gratitude so more people see it and they might get even more responses! lol. Thanks for responding to my discussion.

Hehehehe, well, if I ever start another discussion and you get the BR in it you don't need to thank me for that either. I think that really everybody knows how much anybody else appreciates getting one!

The rules state not to just place a two word "Thank you" or something like that. I will be making sure that I don't do that of course and will at least have something more to say in the post than just thank you. Thanks for responding.
