Well I have only mine Bicolano and tagalog. I guess these two dialects are the ones that I know right now. I can see that there are indeed many visayans who has Cebuano as their dominant dialects that is why most visayans do understand Cebuano dialect.

Nope I am from Bicol.... Well I noticed that too sometimes its just the intonation and sometimes some words differ from one another. What I am curious about is the influence of Cebuano Dialect over your region and even to Mindanao. Most of them does know how to speak Cebuano.

My provinces is in Zamboanga City.. If you are talking about dialect only here in our country then I only know 4 Dialects.. I was born on Jolo, Sulu and I grow up in Zamboanga City.. So,obviously I know how to speak and understand both Tausug and Chavacano.. Since, our native language is Tagalog, of course I can also understand and speak Tagalog fluently.. Then my mother was born on Dipolog, and they speak Bisaya basically I also know how to speak and understand Bisaya..Actually, we are speaking 3 dialogs at home.. Well, I'm talking tausug with my parents, brother, sisters, aunts and uncles.. While I'm talking Tagalog to my Grandmother, my nieces, and some of my cousins... And my mother, usually talked to us Bisaya at home.. While I speak both Tagalog and Chavacano with my friends, classmates, my boyfriend, and to other people..
Sometimes, I make 4 languages in one sentence due to speaking with people in different languages..

I had a discussion about how many languages do you speak?.
There I stated that our dialects are now languages. More of indigenous languages but they are languages all the same. The variation of a language will be the dialect. In order for you to be enlightend on this, do a search on Philippine Languages. My professor in UP for my Linguistics class taught us quite well on this. He was one of those who wrote the UP Diksyonaryong Filipino. It has word equivalents for all the Philippine languages.
I only had 1 semester with Dr. Constantino for Linguistics 201 I think. I had another inguistics class with another professor but all we did was dissect the english language.
I speak the Cebuano of cebu, Ormoc, Davao,Cagayan de oro. I can speak fluent waray. I can understand Hiligaynon. I grew up in Cagayan de oro and ormoc city but we spoke english and a little spanish at home. I am married to a very thoughtful husband who grew up in Quezon City but has a father from Pangasinan and Mother from Batangas. My kids speak english, filipino and cebuano.

I speak Tagalog because our family tribe is Tagalog, but I can understand and speak other languages like Cebuano, Ilonggo and English. I can also understand Karay-a because it is somewhat like Ilonggo, but not as fluent as the Antiquenos. Good day!
