Did you see on the news about the guy that stole the ape?

Some man stole a ape? He got on you tube and apologized and told them he would give it back to them. He sent it back with a friend. The ape is back where it belongs and it did not give any other details except that they did not get the person. Does this person think they will not be able to figure it out? There are so many ways of tracking people. It really made no sense to me. Would you get on the internet and tell that you had committed a crime.

I don't understand it either. In my opinion this person has probably got a mental problem or he was trying to get his 15 minutes of fame, lol. Some people who commit a crime seem to be anxious to be descovered. Look how many mass murders leave traces on purpose. From what I've read they want to build up a reputation. Providing I ever committed a crime (I doubt very much that I ever will), I certainly wouldn't make it public on you tube or anywhere else. Mind you, I wouldn't steal an ape either, lol.

First off, I would not commit a crime. Second, I would not tell anyone anywhere that I did something that I didn't do. Third, the person either wanted to get caught or was dumb enough to think he could get by with it. Four, in time they will get this person, but for what? Stupidity? Theft? Animal Abuse? That one should qualify for the show called Stupid People Tricks or whatever the name of that one is.

what doesn't make sense to me is the fact that he stole it to begin with! I mean come on....people are just nutty today. The only possible reason in my mind that he was thinking was he was planning on selling it.

First, I'm not dumb enough to commit a crime. Second, if I was that dumb, I don't think I'd be enough of a moron to admit it on Youtube! I hope they catch him. I hope he didn't mistreat the ape. Apes are intelligent and all that commotion might have confused and upset him. The guy is lucky the ape didn't hurt him! What a dumb horse's behind.

The only thing I can think of is that he committed the crime (and admitted it) for the notoriety. I can't think of many other completely unrewarding crimes--at least bank robbers get something out of their crime, but ape robbers? And that had to be pre-planned (at least, I would think so)--so he wasted a bunch of time planning a crime that would get him....an ape?? That he returned? And he's crazy to make a public apology on YouTube--because all they have to do is match it up with drivers license photos. He must've done it just to make the headlines. Or he's crazy. Or both.
