I go to the dr. this morning!

I had to drink the nasty orange stuff when I was pregnant with my son and I about vomited. I barely kept it down. With my daughter they just told me to go drink a sugary soda and come back in an hour. I did not even have to wait in the office. I hope it went well for you. Did you get the results yet or do you have to go back to get them?

I had problems with that test. Ugh. It was horrible. When I was pregnant there were 2 flavors - orange and cherry. I was soo sick from that stuff. I am not a sweets person at all, then you can't eat until well after the fact. I was dehydrated from fasting, then they made me drink that stuff. Even though my test was in the morning, I was sick for like 2 days.

I have never had the displeasure of having to drink it since I have never had to get that type of test before. Well, I do hope that you got through it okay,

I remember that test way too well. It made me sick to drink that stuff too! I had 4 children too. What was I thinking! After the first test I thought, yuck..I don't want to ever do that again....then the baby was such a blessing, that I didn't think about the test the other 3 times. JUst think...you are getting a beautiful baby, so you can choke that yuck down.

ersmommy1 hi that glucose test is the worst, almost like the gallon of pink syrupy stuff they give you for an MRi, tastes and smells a lot like dish soap. yuck. I onlydread going to my doctor if my blood glucose tests have been high but lately i have been a very good girl and have nothing to fear there.

I hope by now you have the test results back and all is well. However, I am subscribed to see your new discussions. So, as I'm posting, I'm working backwards through my email box. From that, I infer things didn't work out so well. That is, you will have to take the test again. However, if I recall correctly, all turns out well in the end. :)

I know exactly what you are talking about. I didn't have as much trouble as you did, but I hate that orange stuff too! It looks like minute maid, it smells like minute maid, but oh God the taste!!! It dang sure doesn't taste like minute maid!!! The last time I took that dang test the nurse had the nerve to hand me a little cup to go along with the bottle. Why stretch that nasty flavor out??? I told her to keep the cup and took the bottle to the head! I wanted to get it overwith as soon as possible!!! That isn't the biggest reason I hated going to the Dr. while pregnant. What I hated was the clean catches. I had some sort of bacteria that I was born with down in that area. Once they found that out, all my urine samples had to be clean catches, which means its done with a catheter. I can't STAND the catheter!!! I would go in there begging. "Please let me go pee! I have to pee right now! You don't have to go get it I will give it to you! C'mon, don't you have some of those handi-wipes that I can use? I will clean it before I go, I promise! Please just let me pee on my own!!!
