Does Canon really have more loyal users?  

I have a canon camera and a canon printer... i used to have a kodak camera... but it broke down after two years of using it... so i decided to just buy a canon camera... and i have been using it for two years now... without any problem... so i think that is why more and more people love to use canon...

i ask my husband about your topic and he said yes Canon has more loya users and its great brand compare to nikon.frankly speaking we dont are not using canon,we are using sony but my husbands friends has collecting canon stuff.

SLR users of any major brand tend to be more loyal to their camera than users of compact cameras because their investment is in the system. I am a Canon man, but not just because Canon make excellent, robust and reliable cameras. All the major brands do that, and anyone who says Nikon or Sony or Pentax or some other company is a "better" make is expressing a personal opinion, not a fact. Each of the many camera makers has at least one camera which will suit some users better than any of the alternatives.

But the value of an SLR is in the system: buy a Canon or Nikon or Leica or you-name-it and soon you will want another lens, a flash gun, a set of bellows, a vertical grip etc. etc. Thing is, if you then decide to buy another brand, none of your accessories will fit the new system. To replace my SLR with the current model would cost me about $2700, but all my lenses, remote controls, angle finders, focusing screens, etc. will work with the new body. To by a similar camera, or even a "better" one from another company would cost 3x the price to replace the accessories: so I am loyal!

Which is one reason you should try a number of cameras before deciding which is best for your present needs and will be able to grow with you. Being "disloyal" gets expensive!

I had a bad experience with a Canon product which has put me off for life so I actually AVOID buying ANY Canon product. It was a printer for my computer I was recommended Canon by the salesperson, I took it home and I had so much problem with it that I said never again. So for me any product as long as it WASNT Canon I would be happy to use. I will always go for Sony products when possible because Sony is the best make!

i am myself a canon user it is 1 of my preferred brands along with genius & Kodak so i will stick with these myself as they seem to be popular brands here in NZ as well.

We are loyal also to Canon..LOL! ANyway, yea, I am very willing to try another brand if ever I will also see the quality and durability of the said products!
But, that is rare since once I am satisfied costumer of a particular brand, I will really patronize it not until they will just raise their prices unreasonably!

Hello youless. My digital camera is a Canon brand bought in 2004, and it is still working perfectly. But if I am going to get another new one, I will choose to get a Sony brand one. I think that the lens of Sony brand is better probably as most of my foreign colleagues use this brand. And I do find that I like Sony brand digital camera. Mine cost me close to 5000 RMB, but next time I will buy a much cheaper one as you see, the price of digital camera has been falling, much cheaper than the one I bought years ago. Good day.

I just recently started buying Canon (I have a DSLR and a photo printer) products after using Pentax and HP products. Yes, I would definitely buy more Canon products. They are top quality products and their customer service is outstanding. I think you get great value for the money.

When it comes time to replace my Cannon Rebel, I will probably stick with the Cannon brand. One my lenses are Cannon, and two it has wonderful quality and a smaller price tag than the equivalent Nikon. Personally I think the Cannon cameras are very good.

not sure of the stats but my first digicam is a canon a70 and i think it's been with me for about, uuhhhmmmm, i think almost 4 years now and i still have to experience any glitch. and since i discovered something on the shots that i took using that digicam i am talking, i became so interested in photography and guess what my goal is? i am planning (and right now saving) to buy a canon dSLR either the 450D or the 40D. i'm only a vacation shooter and a hobbyist and absolutely not a pro.
