Questions about 666

I really think that's just another superstition that's gotten way out of hand! Just like Friday the 13th. Luck is what you make it!

It will be what you make it out to be!! It is just a number nothing else.

Why should it be bad luck? You will, no doubt, reach that number and pass it in a couple of posts.

Think about it. Did anything terrible happen to you when you were 666 days old, or 666 hours old (and so on ...)? When were you last 666 miles from home?

The Book of Revelation 13:18 has (KJV): "Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man" in other words, it refers (in code) to a specific person, often thought to be the Emperor Nero. Even the number is in dispute because some early versions would seem to give 616 or 665, not 666. It all depends on the copying of a single letter.

Just because 666 is written as though it is the devil's number in the bible, doesn't mean you should believe it, what if the bible said every number was the devil's number, would you believe it then?

In some Asian countries, if not all, number 4 is considered unlucky because it's assosiated with death... It goes as far as not having 4th floor on some buildings... If I'm not mistaken, in some Asian language, number 4 is pronounced very closed to a way that the word for "death" is pronounced... Almost like number 13 here in U.S. is considered unlucky number... As long as we're talking about numbers & bibles, there's a rumor, I have no clue how true this is, reason for number 13 being unlucky, especially Friday the 13th is because in bible, 12 deciples & Jesus make up number 13... And something about Jesus being crusified on Friday the 13th... Like I said, I'm not sure if this is the reason why Friday the 13th is considered unlucky but it's one of the rumors, or popular myth... Bible does refer to some numbers but I think 666 in itself in everyday life doesn't really mean anything... I know that in bible, number 666 is the "mark of the beast" or "number of a beast"... I don't know, I have mixed feelings about it... I try not to put too much feelings into it...

Hi Shelly, I am not superstitious as such but I would never purchase a car or a bike with 666 in the number plate and I don't like i at work if one of the marines happens to spend an amount of 6.66 and try to prompt for them to spend more as if it is some sort of omen to them before they go out to Iraq or Afghanistan but I suggest you reach 666 and thenpost another discussion or respond to another pretty quick. I actually think it's just what you are believing yourself about 'unlucky numbers' like 13 or 666. For some it means bad luck, but for some it's luck! Anyway, what I'm trying to say here, that it's all just in your head..You shouldn't be afraid of numbers, because they really can't do really any harm. I mean, I've never had an accident or whatever on the 13th of Friday! And I think it's just because I don't believe in the bad luck that's hanging around those numbers.

Hi ShellyB,666 is the number of the beast,more specifically the beast from the sea,usually called "The Antichrist".If you want to read more into the meaning of 666 you certainly can, but I think you're just being overly superstitious.Nothing to fear about the devils number.When you get 666 post just do another post and move forward to 667 nothing's going to happen.I think that a number is not going to effect our lives.cheers...

The number doesn't mean anything at all to me Just a number like any other number. I can tell you that it adds up, as far as numerology goes, to 9. Does that help you?
