Will your marriage stand the test of time?

Mine has! I will have been married for 25 years in December. I got married young and no one thought it would last because I was young and hadn't really lived yet. I admit, we had our rough times. I got a little itchy to see what was out there years ago and things got kind of tough for our marriage for a while.

We never split or anything but we had a lot of talking and soul searching to do. Well, obviously you know what we decided as far as whether our marriage should continue. It has and I suspect it will until one of us passes away.

Despite the fact that we sometimes disagree and we are very different in many ways, we have been there for each other through the tough times, through the sad times, through everything. We still laugh together and we still understand each other better than anyone else.

My husband is a hard worker, a non smoker, drinks a beer or two a year, doesn't go out with the guys, and does a heck of a lot for me. I am now totally content with my life and with him and I know he knows that.

Our kids are 22 and 18 so now it's basically just us again. We have been going places alone again and enjoying hanging out together.

I think our marriage has been through so much that, if it were to end, it surely would have by now. The bottom line is that we love each other.

I think this is very much how our marriage is. Even with me being disabled we belong together. We have had some very rough times and tempers and emotions got in the way but we syuck it out and we love each other very much. We have only been married almost seven years and it seems like we have always been together. Her children are my children. Not by blood but by love.

Like you, there is no doubt in my mind that it will last forever! I'm on marriage number two and hubby number three... They says three's a charm LOL

Anyway, we've been married for 22 years, through the good, the bad, and the ugly... two kids, on mine, one ours, two nieces of mine and a whole lot more. We both believe were are soul mates, meant to be one!

I am in my 4th year of marriage and also in the first few months of my divorce. When I looked at my husband the first time I said thats it I want him. That really was the end of it for us we both thought we would be together forever. We had many life events happen our first two years. We moved 1200 miles from where we met, we bought a house, we had our daughter (in that order) Then in our 3rd year things started to go down hill. He stoped being the man I married, my friend. I tried every thing in my power to keep us together. In the end he made his decision because it was easier to walk away then to work on things. During the hard times I didn't want out but him being the person he is couldn't take the hard times. Maybe I am stronger then him. I don't know. Either way I thought that my marriage would stand the test of time but it didn't. Every thing happens for a reason and because of my marriage I am a better, stronger, more knowledagable person.

That is good to hear that you have a strong marriage. Marriage is something that constantly needs attention. You need communication and a shoulder for your partner to lean on. I have been married for four years now. With my husband about eight years.
My husband doesn't have any substance abuse or drinking problems either. I like it that way. We are both raising a son together too. I do believe that I have a marriage that will be longstanding. I wish you luck in your marriage. Have a great day!

Sometimes I think it will, sometimes I think it wont. Sometimes I dont think I want it too. I go through a lot of emotions within my marriage. I am a strange person at times and so I think that one day my hubby may well just get fed up of me and my moods and go. But then again, we have this bond between us, like if all else fails we connect in a deep way. I cannot see myself without him in my life in some way and we always talk about when the kids are grown we plan to travel to the places we want to go to. I guess I will have to come back to you on this one in another 20 years!
