Contraception: A Mortal Sin?

Why would they ban contraceptives? That makes no sense to me. I'm sure there are some that are bad, especially birth control stuff, but they can't all be bad.

I believe in abstinence. More importantly I believe that all children need two loving parents, therefore contraceptives are necessary! Senators need to do be doing something to earn their pay! This is a no brainer in my opinion.

Ban contraceptives? umm no. I know its rare, but there are actually single young people, even teens that use contraceptives (not that i condone teens being sexually active) but for thos who are active, why would we ban contraceptives and then they cant use them. Arent taxpayers paying enough for people who have children left and right, unplanned, we dont need to add to the number because contraception isnt an option for those who do currently use it. It would be a big mistake if contraception was banned. Also think of the cost of medical insurance, for those who are fortunate enough to have it, the premiums will go up, because companies have to pay out for more childbirths, that may not have happened if contraception was available.

Where and what senators are debating it? Contraception has been widely available for years so there has to be more to it. What are the circumstances surrounding this debate?

For me, it is since conception must be allowed at all cost.If you dont wantto have a baby then you shoul not do it at all. Sorry, im conservative still.

Where is this that senators are debating it? In the US, there is no debate or argument that I know of about contraception. Contraception is approved and available. I have heard of some Catholics who do not believe in contraception, except withdrawal or rhythm methods, but I'm not sure that they still believe that way. I'm a Christian and I do believe that abortion is wrong, and therefore, something like the morning after pill would be abortion in my opinion, not contraception. The only debate I can think of in the US might be whether it is OK to give children under age of 18 contraceptives without their parents' consent.

im using contraceptives and i dont think its a sin because im just being practical enough.

I don't think contraception should be banned. It is not a sin because it is just preventing a pregnancy to occur. It is not like abortion which is already killing life. Contraception is better than allowing unwanted pregnancies and then babies born are not given due protection and care. Those who are saying it is a mortal sin should rather think first what mortal sin are they talking about.
