i pulled a muscle in my wrist - by crocheting!  

I've never pulled a muscle while crocheting, but my hands have begun to hurt after doing it for a long period of time. When they start hurting, I take a break for a little while. I hope you get better soon.

Oh my gosh, I've never heard of that happening! it sounds like it must have hurt pretty bad. I can't think of a time when I've had a tendon snap like you describe. However, I've had sore wrists and elbows from typing for too long. I swear, it feels like tennis elbow!

Anyway, hope it heals quickly.

Oh ouch. When its time for those tendons to go, they go, regardless of what you are doing.
However, because I find it difficult to use a thimble (I'm uncoordinated okay), I have put a whole in my finger while hand piecing quilt blocks. Not a stick from the needle. An actual HOLE from sticking the same place with the needle repeatedly. I'm working on the thimble thing.

Ouch! No, I have never done anything like that. Not while crafting or anything else. My hubby has a tendon injury in his shoulder and he said that everything can feel fine and then all of a sudden, for no reason, there is a problem.
He always ices on and off ofr the first 18 hours and then heats the injured area to help promote blood flow and speed up the healing process (He was a jock throught school, so he knows his way around ice packs, heating pads, and elevating injured areas...lol)

Ouch!!! You must be a neighbor!!! I dislocated the tip of my left index finger last night, I was pinning some fabric together...I looked at it, got annoyed and popped it back into place. It still hurts but at least I saved a doctor's bill.

You might try something like Hand Eze for when you crochet...it massages the hand and it also supports the tendons and muscles.

not yet! Knock on wood. I have muscle pull in my lower back, man the hurts, but not when I'm crocheting or knitting. Hope you get to feeling better.

I probably have done something similar in the past,some of them being sports related,with various twinges and such for days or a week...hope You get back on form again soon!

That sounds very painful! I've never done it quite like that, but have pulled muscles and know how it hurts.

The way God created us no one can completely figure out the whole functions of our body. that is why scientist are often dumbfunded many times. the body is good for discovering new things.
