Survivor Gabon: My opinion thus far...

Ok all of you BB fans...here we are talking Survivor now! I promised you all I would give it a shot. I have liked a few seasons in the past and, so far, it was fun to watch this time. It doesn't hurt that there are some really good looking guys on it this season. Marcus from the Kota tribe, for one, is really nice to ogle. LOL! I would have to say he is one of my favorites so far. I also liked how kind and helpful that Matty from the Fang tribe was with Gillian and the Olympic girl (can't remember her name right now). I also like Bob from the Kota tribe. He seems smart and crafty without having a big ego that can get in the way. He is a go getter but not at all in an annoying way. I don't like GC. I wavered on Michelle. She certainly had an attitude that was a bit too full of herself so, while I thought Gillian should have gone first as she was not a physical asset to her tribe, I wasn't surprised to see them vote Michelle out first. And, I was happy to see Gillian gone next. I agree that a positive attitude is a good asset for a tribe but, when you are really doing nothing but the rah rahs and you can't seem to see past the flowers and sunshine, you really aren't all that good at much of anything. LOL! She would only have continued to slow and drag the Fang tribe down.
Now...since I don't watch the show that much, I do recall some inappropriate clothes on the show before but, not as bad as this season. Seriously ladies? A skirt? You know what show you are getting on when you get picked. Why would you wear something that you would wear to a bar or a restaurant, or even to your office, on Survivor? What is that about? And, what was with the 3, or was it 4, guys in suits? Granted, in the cold nights, those jackets and long pants could come in handy to stay warm. But, now...not that I mind...we get to see Marcus in his boxer briefs. Holy hotness Batman. That man has a body that is becoming a bit distracting. I am struggling to pay attention to what he is saying when he is shirtless and wearing his underwear. LOL! Oh...shoot! I need a napkin or something now to wipe the drool off of my keyboard. LOL!
Ok...sorry for that break in class to drool all over that fantastically abtastic man. LOL!
So far, I am not really finding any of the girls that I am rooting for. And, I don't think it is because I was too distracted by Marcus' really beautiful body. LOL! Afterall, he wasn't on my TV the entire time. Just for part of it...darn it! LOL! Sugar is both annoying and a little endearing. As for the rest of the girls, we'll have to see. I don't like, nor do I particularly dislike any of them yet.

Well I seldom watch the show, though I'd already saw the first two episodes were Michelle was the first eliminated. On my view I think she was a competitive girl, look how she dash on the first obstacle right? though she have some attitude of her own, but what the hell that is a race and a game right? You don't just rest and do nothing in a race like GC who rested on shoveling and Gillian who just talk and talk and do nothing, its like she was their parrot on a pirate ship. So I didn't want Michelle to go. Well I was so glad that Gillian was out, she was the weakest link of all and compare to Bob on the other tribe that uses his brain every minute of the day. Well for the Olympic girl, I thought she would be the athletic one to their tribe but then again she was so slow remember she was one of those ladies who cannot climb the first obstacle. I underestimated the other tribe, because majority of them was girls and they have this two gay love birds flocking around the river, well they are the best team as for now.
Actually this was my first time of watching the said Survivor and I was shocked coz you cannot trust anyone around even your own tribe. Some are traitors like Ken, Michelle wanted them to vote for Gillian for the first Tribal Council but then he voted for Michelle as well. Moral lesson of the game, don't trust anybody.

LOL! Sorry, I only just saw this. Is Charlie a lawyer? LOL! I can't remember. But, to answer your question, I don't know if Marcus is just using Charlie. He did build an alliance with Charlie and two of the girls...I can't recall whom. LOL! It is entirely possible that Marcus is using Charlie but, I sort of think that you have to use someone for a little while to further yourself in the game. LOL!

I do need to correct you with one thing. There is only one gay guy and that is Charlie. Charlie has a crush on Marcus whom you may have mistaken for gay and his boyfriend. He isn't and they are not dating. LOL!
But, I hear ya on the rest of them. GC ticked me off when I saw him just resting during the one competition. They were losing and he just stood there.
Michelle was a good competitor but had a really bad attitude. Gillian was a bad competitor but had a good attitude. LOL. If Gillian and Michelle could only have combined their good assets into one person, they might have been a strong asset for their team. LOL!
Crystal is the name of the Olympic athlete and, yea...that was pretty bad that she couldn't get up the hill. Then, she blamed it on her shoes being too heavy? What! Come on with that. Either she is purposely trying to show herself as week to throw people off and have them thinking she is not a threat as a competitor or, she really has let her strength go since the Olympics. It is my opinion though that you want the stronger players on your side so that they can help you get further in the game. I would think that with a game like Survivor, you want to send the weakest links home first as they tend to lag behind and keep you from winning competitions when you are always having to carry your weight and theirs. So, if she doesn't step it up, maybe she will be leaving soon too.

cortjo~ I can't get over that you know everyones names already. I can't even remember who marcus is....I will have to watch closer this week!
I couldn't stand Gillian, so was so happy to see her leave, but I do have to say Michelle dug her own grave. She could have been a great asset to that tribe but decided to be all babish since she was picked last and on the ugly tribe!

LOL! Thanks you! But, I don't know all of their names just yet. Just a few that stuck out to me...especially Marcus! LOL! He is on he Kota tribe and is, I think, the hottest guy on that tribe. LOL!
Anyway, I was kind of happy to see Gillian leave too and, yea...Michelle did dig her own grave. She should have just sucked it up and gotten over being picked last and being on the "ugly tribe". But, because she proved herself spoiled and unadaptable, she got the boot!

The clothes thing happened before. What happens is they show up and find out they can't keep their bags so they have to go in what they are wearing - however these idiots should know that. I was thinking I would show up in long pants with shorts underneath, and 3 layers on top (undershirt, shirt, and a sweater) AND possibly even wearing my bathing suit underneath!
SO they end up with only that outfit they are wearing, they may have packed better clothes but they don't get them all at once. That's why, if they were smart, they'd plan ahead like I said above.

I figured it had to have something to do with something like that. And, I would do the same as you. If I knew that I was going to be on the show, I would make sure the wear my bathing suit every day, underneath a t-shirt, underneath a hoodie or a sweatshirt or something. And, on the bottom, my bathing suit bottoms, some shorts and a pair of jeans or sweatpants or something. As for shoes, I would likely wear some socks and tennis shoes but, I think they are allowed to bring tennis shoes with them so, I could get away with wearing some sandals or something.
Anyway, I would constantly be prepared. LOL!

Yep, I'm enjoying the show so far. As a matter of fact it is on right now. I need to get off of here. There is a couple of good looking guys on there this season. Theres no hope for the Fang tribe. I'm glad they voted Michelle and Gillian off, GC should be the next to go. Yes, what was they thinking when they got dress for the show.

Same here! I was sort of happy to see Gillian and Michelle go. And, do they ever have some good looking guys this season. Whew! Someone in the casting crew has good taste in men! LOL!
I still can't figure out what they were thinking when they got dressed for the show. Unless they just grab them right from work or something. LOL!

I enjoy survivor - have watched all seasons. I write a blog about it (from my point of view!) if you care to take a look - link to the blog is in my profile.
But yeah, what you said here - my thoughts exactly. I would have voted Michelle off first just to get her gone! How many times did they show her calling her tribe mates "loosers" "dorks" and "retarded"? I mean, like she was such a gem herself!!!
And yeah, the guys seem to have the best smiles this season of any! Couple are a bit boney but a couple are have a body to match the smile!
I get really tired of watching the show with all the blurring out that they have to do cause the women all wear such flimsey, nothing clothing! THis season I think wins for "most cleavage hanging out" award!
I thought Gabon was amazingly beautiful and the close ups of those animals - awesome! I mean, I have seen an elephant before, but those shots of them there - like I hadn't seen them before!! Just amazing
I look forward to a fun season!

That's really cool that you keep a blog about Survivor. I'll check it out.
Now, I did like Michelle's spunk because I think she probably could have been helpful in competitions but, yea...she really should have buttoned her lips with her opinions about her tribe members. Calling them names only breeds an air of discontent and, no one is that good at hiding what they think when they have been trash talking everyone.
It really is nice to see some pretty boys on a CBS reality show. I am still hoping for some hotter men to be put on BB next season. LOL! They really have been dropping the ball there. LOL!
The shots of the animals were really great. I am looking forward to more fun this season too!

I think they pick the contestants up off of the street and they have to come in what they are dressed in when they get picked up. I was glad to see that Michelle girl go first and Gillian secondly. I thought that someone would step up and be the leader of the tribe so to say for the Fang tribe but no go. GC did give it that "try" but it proved to be ineffective and he has quite a bit of attitude as well. I thought that the Gold Medalist Crystal would be much better than she was, especially at that very first challenge! I was shocked that she did not finish among the first ones. She is from NC and I was rooting for her quite a bit because of that.. now I am not so sure. I was glad that they have pulled together and came close to winning that last challenge. I was very happy that Randy and GC and Ken and the ladies all pulled together to catch the fish! As far as the other tribe goes, they are rocking!

Maybe they do grab them from wherever they are at the time. But, if I knew that I was chosen for Survivor, I would make sure I layered my wardrobe at all times until I was picked up. But, they could be picking them up straight from work and that would explain the boys' suits and the girls' skirts. Someone should ask that question when they interview Mark sometime. LOL!
The thing about Michelle was that her strength and determination in the competitions could have been an asset to her team but, her attitude would have gotten to their morale so, she needed to go. Gillian, on the other hand, was good for morale but not good for the competitions. GC does have a bit of a big attitude. It is possible that Crystal is just trying to fake people out as far s her strength to keep herself from being a target by showing that she isn't that strong. But, I would think you would want your stronger people around longer to help win the competitions. But, I don't know. LOL!

You are probably right about Crystal just trying to fake them all out. I hope that is the case. I would see her as a major threat and would want to get rid of her once the tribes merge!

I haven't seen survivor yet, I did want to stop by and say hi. I don't watch much tv, I am mostly on the computer trying to make money. Right now what I earn online is my only income. I have gotten serious about selling on ebay, thats alot of fun. I do have a few favorite shows that I try not to miss. Of course BB was one of them. I will try to catch survivor sometime, I do like the show. BB was better though. Keep up the good work, you make a good reporter.

And, I am with you! BB is and always will be my favorite! But, I am so far enjoying watching Survivor.

I think I have to agree with you on just about everything you said. I said over and over again, "Have these people not seen the show before? They should know by now not to show up in suits and dresses." But my husband said he thinks they really surprise them about when they are actually heading out.
Quite a few hotties this season. I really don't know much of the Kota team because so much focus was put on the Fang team. I really hate it when one team dominates like Kota has so far. It's been like that the last couple of years and it was so boring I just wanted to turn it off. But, I think that is when Survivor decides to switch things up. Even though they probably have their whole game plan written out ahead of time, when it comes down to a team of 8 versus a team of 4, they have to do something to make the game more even and more interesting to watch or they will lose viewers. I really hated seeing Fang lose that last challenge!
The girls on Kota seem to be pretty full of themselves. They need to get knocked down a peg or two. Next week's challenge is physical fight against each other so maybe that will do it. Fang has a lot of strong players now that Gillian is gone so hopefully they can pull it off. I can't help but root for the underdog when they are being trounced so badly. I guess I don't like seeing the winners gloat! Does that make me a poor loser? LOL!
And speaking of skivvies... how'd you like the orange ones on Ace? What a hoot!

LOL! Ace's orange skivvies were a hoot! LOL! But, whew! Good grief does Marcus make skivvies look...well...just wow! LOL! That man is just so freaking hot! LOL!
Ok...I really need to move on from Marcus' skivvies! LOL! Jeez! LOL!
Maybe they do surprise them and they all think they are going somewhere else. I just can't understand why they would show up to such a game dressed in their date night best. LOL! I would think that if I were on a show like Survivor and I knew I made it as they all do, I would always be prepared to be thrown at my location. But, that is just me. LOL!
I would tend to cheer for the underdog too but, I like some of the members of the Kota tribe better than the Fang tribe. I do like a few Fang members but, there are a few more dynamic people in the Kota tribe that I am loving. We'll see though. It is still pretty early on and we have really only barely started to scratch the surface of this group and their personalities. Next week we may get to know 5 or 6 of the other castaways better. This week they showed us a lot of Randy, Ace, Marcus (meow), Charlie, Gillian, Michelle, GC, and Bob. I don't think they game much time to many of the other people.
I am enjoying it thus far and I think a lot of it has to do with Marcus. Whew! He is definitely memorable! LOL!

Mommymo..just mentioned this show but was waiting for you..I don't even remember Marcus's name..wow how bad is that?..i do Crystal the one That Matty helped and Bob who is doing alot of work but am worried about how skinny he is to last...I think that Gay guy is cute to have a crush on the other one....I will learn their names soon too..lol..didn't like michelle or gillian..usually the girls are walking around in bras and panties..now its the guys in thie underwear..

So, the guy that Charlie was drooling over was Marcus...the one I am referring too. And, God bless those boys for wandering around in their skivvies! LOL! I am enjoying watching that! LOL! Shoot! There I go drooling again! LOL!
And, Thank you for waiting for me. Sorry it took me so long. I didn't watch the episode until today. I had too much other stuff to get through first. For one, Supernatural. Yummy are those boys nice to watch too! LOL!
And, thank you for providing me with Chrystal's name! I couldn't remember it. I think I will start remembering more names around the time that the castaways go from 18, now 16 to about 6. LOL!
Long live Gabon and the men in their underwear! LOL! It's about time CBS gave me some good looking men to watch! LOL!

Thank you! And, yea...the Fang tribe really is struggling. Which, I think is a little ok with me. While I like Matty in that tribe, he is about the only one in that tribe that I am ok with. But, I can't recall for sure.
So, you and me both. I have a headache and my stomach is a mess tonight so, I hope that you feel better soon! Get some rest, drink lots of water and feel better!
