Will you kill someone who is about to kill you?

I will do anything and everything to defend other people before I defend myself. I have told my family this over and over that I will step in front of the bullet if it is about to hit one of them. I am very protective over my family, and have been since I can remember. However, if it was just me he was about to kill, I will kill him before he kills me. Why should I let someone run free when he can possibly kill others in the future?

I don't think anyone can truthfully answer that unless they have been in the situation. We'd all like to think we'd play hero, and hopefully in a life or death crisis like that we'd at least go down trying to fight back. But we really don't know. Could be that in the face of fear we just freeze up, or maybe it's not even that we freeze up with fear, but with the fear of taking another's life. Even when the person is a killer and your life is in danger it's still no small task for someone to kill another human being. Well if that person is your typical semi moral human anyway. Obviously it's nothing for a psycho to kill another human.

So I'd hope I'd be able to do it, but I really don't know. And to be honest, it's a situation I don't ever mind finding out about.

I'm not a violent person either, but if someone was about to kill me I would have no choice but to defend myself and kill him first. I never want to kill anyone and I may feel bad about for a while but I guess I would have to get over it, in that situation it would either be me or him and better him than me plus you may stop him from hurting someone else as well.

Of course I would kill him before he got me and I probably would not have hid somewhere while he was mowing the others down either. Had I been armed I would have gone on the offensive as soon as harmed even one other person. In my view that is not violence. That is taking personal responsibility. However, in the scenario you describe, with him pointing a gun at my face and my weapon on the counter, it seems unlikely that I would have any change much less a 45% chance. Of course I would do my best, but that just doesn't strike me a a realistic situation. One thing in my favor though would be that I would clearly be a better shot than him.

I would hide, but as you said, he already has found me and ready to kill me, yes, why would I hesitate if I can have that chance to survive and kill the villain?


If I'm wise enough on handling guns, maybe I could find a way to injure him and let the authorities come by.

whether or not i have "a counter deadly weapon" i would still do everything in my power to kill him first. even if that means trying to push my thumbs thru to his brain lol!!

and in the case of family being threatened..you bet id kill the person. no doubts, no hesitations.

If i have a choice, i won't kill him.. AT most i will injure him with whatever weapon i can find, making him harmless b4 i try to subdue him^_^ Because it makes no sense for me to kill him, if he's really mad in the 1st place.. PLus, during my time in the army, we are often taught, shoot to injure, and not kill.. Plus, every human is a life, no matter how wrong or how many lives had taken, and we might be the next, we still dun have the right to kill him^_^

i wouldn know how it would ever feel to kill someone, and i dont think ill be in a situation were i mght have to. And this situation, i am gana die if i dont do anything, so why not take a chance (45%) and see what happens, even if he kills me first, i would have died anyway. So yes, i would pick up the gun and fire. I am sure that i wouldnt be worried how i am going to feel afterwards, that wouldnt be so imprtant at the time. When you were a kid did you ever want to see what it felt like to punch someone? even if you werent a violent person, after all those action movies you saw and video games you'd be at least a bit curiouse, which is just like shooting someone. But no i dont i'd like to shoot someonme just because of everything that will come afterwards, all the pain and suffering mentaly. I dont want to be scared for ever for that one dicision i made in less then 1 minute.

Yes, I would with no hesitation...I would do whatever necessary no stopping me.
I have been in many very close calls FB and indeed, if it boiled down to it, I would do all I could to win the battle even now.
I have to live because I have responsibility to stay alive for my son.

There's not really a choice as far as i'm concerned...if the mad man went on to kill me he probably wouldn't stop there and he'll be on the look out for more to kill. So without any thought i'd make an instant move for the gun and have a go at defending both myself and others that are to be his next victims.
