have you ever experienced having a nervous stomach? well its new to me i mean the term "nervous" but i do experienced a nervous stomach..such as indigestion and among others but i like to qoute some excerpts from mayo clinic for further explanation on this... "Nervous stomach" isn't a specific diagnosis or a recognized disease. Some doctors may use the term to generally describe symptoms of indigestion, bloating or changes in bowel habits — especially after diagnostic tests fail to reveal a specific cause, such as an ulcer or gallstones. You might ask your doctor to be more specific about what the term means in your individual situation. You might also ask if any tests are needed to diagnose or rule out other possibilities. in my case if this happened i usually drink teas for indigestion or drink hot water every two hours and that is without eating food yet...what about you guys?

If you have to have something in your stomach every couple of hours, I would think you have over-production of acid or an ulcer.
I had an ulcer brought about by nerves because my boss was yelling at me all the time. I left the job, so I was better eventually. It didn't stop after I left the job, I had to slowly get my stomack under control. Any loud noises would start over-production of acid again. But eventually I was all better until a few years later when I had gallstones. You're very right, people should ask for a better diagnosis, if your doctor is watching for gallstones, never tells you and you move somewhere, can't afford to go to a Doctor and don't know, that could be a problem. Terrific discussion, take care.

Well, I don't usually have indigestion and stuff like that, but I have a tendency to have stomach trouble when I'm in stressful situations. Even when the stress is not that big.
I remember a few years ago I had a class that was difficult. The kids were not just talkative or playful but downright rude.I dreaded that class for some time and I noticed that my stomach always hurt during class time. The following year I had a new class and never had the same problem again.
I never did anything special about it other than try to relax after it was over :)

I was always told I had a nervous stomach, whenever I went to the dentist I would be physically sick, even when I would go to visit someone in hospital I would after five minutes go all white and I would feel sick...I would get sick when I became stressed and the only thing they would say to me is that I had a nervous stomach.
