to win contest. Joey Chestnut wins first-ever Famous Famiglia World Pizza Eating Championship. He skyrocketed to competitive-eating fame in 2007 in hot-dog contest. The 24-year-old Californian fasted for a day before downing the pizza.
Do you know anyone who has entered an eating contest? have you? WOuld watching someone do this make you sick to your stomach? It would me.

I have watched a food eating contest it was about hot dogs...and one with chicken wings. I didn't get sick but was amazed at how much they could eat without getting sick. I have never entered a contest like that and don't think anyone has in my family.

Wow. I love pizza, but I don't think I could eat that much no matter how hard I tried. I've seen eating contests on tv before, and they don't make me sick to watch. I'm pretty much in awe of how they can eat so much in so little time.

I would be worried that they would choke or something. The idea of gobbling all that pizza down in like four minutes or something makes me worried. I've got a fear of choking and that kind of thing would probably really set it off. I do love pizza and hot dogs though.

Not wanting to seem snotty or anything, I have to agree that eating a food consumption contest makes me sick to my stomach. I can enjoy, for example, watching sporting events. People can do amazing things. However, even if it is amazing to watch someone eat so darn much food, I can't help but think that they are doing terrible damage to their insides.
Of course, that doesn't mean it can't or shouldn't exist. I just choose not to laud the accomplishments of people who can consume mass quantities of food. Much like it is perfectly fine for a woman to pose for Playboy, but I choose not to focus too much attention on that particular sort of human endeavor.
I am, however, a bit of a softy. I do not really even enjoy the Ultimate Fighting contests. I understand it is an example of powerful athletes demonstrating a mastery of martial arts. However, the process seems to do so much damage to their bodies, I do not want to be a part of encouraging that. The same could be said of those 'send in your video' programs where they kept showing and laughing at people getting hurt. I just do not find hurting oneself entertaining or amusing.
I accept that other people may have a different perspective.
