After several months, I am finished with the afghan for our soon to be born grandbaby. This is a close-up since I couldn't find a place in the house to use as a good background. The afghan was knitted on both sides. Decided to skip the purl and see how it looked. Sure like the look of this afghan. Have you tried to knit only a project and not purl?

It's beautiful. I love the colors. I do not know how to knit. I am a crocheter. My mom use to knit, and it look complicated.

Actually it's not complicated to knit. I have no idea how to crochet but understand it's easier. Thanks for responding.

Knitting is complicated to me, though I can do it. However my youngest daughter could never get the hang of using a crochet hook. She's a very accomplished knitter, while the rest of the family crochets. It just depends on how your brain translates hand co ordination.

Wow! Look at all the colors. That's neat. Yes, I haven't quite figured out how to purl on a circle loom knitter or on a spool knitter. So all my projects are without the pearl. I have a bid in on a DVD on ebay to learn how to do more on the circle loom including purls, and I hope I win. It has how to do more than just making hats, too. Your Grandbaby is very lucky to have a talented Grandmommy.

Thanks for the compliment. Actually I'm not talented. Learned to knit when I was a kid. I don't knit the traditional way. It was taught to my aunt from someone she knew from Germany and my aunt taught me. I've never seen it done the way I do! I can only do the basics. No sweaters, hats, socks. Thanks for responding.

Very pretty, you did great! I love those colors. I just bought a bunch more yarn last week and now have to figure out what I'm going to crochet with it all. I got some great deals the other day. I've been blogging about all of my antics with a crochet hook.

Thanks. I have no idea how to crochet. It looks relaxing but would have to be taught from scratch. The afghan turned out really nice. It's now waiting the arrival of the baby which will happen in a few days. Thanks for responding.

It is beautiful! I love the colors. I haven't ever done straight knit stitch. I don't knit very much, but when my youngest daughter started learning she did straight knit stitch on some coasters and made me a scarf that was just straight knit. It makes an interesting texture, not quite a seed stitch, but similar. I like it!

This project is the best looking I've ever done. Knitting both sides looks so much neater, in my opinion. Thanks for responding.

Wow it looks lovely! Lots of love went into that. Your a awesome grandmother! I have thought of getting one of those knitting machines! You just thread it, then keep sliding a piece in the front back and forth. It knits a whole row in just a coupe seconds!

I would have an interest in seeing how this machine works especially if it can knit hats, sweaters, etc. I can only make afghans which is the basic stitch. Can't do anything fancy. Thanks for responding.

You did a wonderful job on that hon. I still wish I had that talent...but I get too tangled up in the yarn (kind of like my kittens LOL).

I have only knitted one afghan in my life and I have no idea if it was knit and purl or what. hahaha I have used to crochet a lot though, that is much easier for me. I have not done that in a long time either so I would even have to relearn how to do that. Congratulations on finishing your project. I will go look at the picture now.

The finished product turned out better than I thought. I understand crocheting is much easier so maybe that's something I should look into. Thanks for responding.

Beautiful! I love the soft color combos...they grab your attention, but at the same time seem very relaxing. It's a fabulous creation, certainly an afghan worthy of being passed down to the following generation and your soon to be born grandchild will love it... as will their Mom. Great job!

Thanks so much for the nice compliment. Took me forever to complete this afghan. All by myself I was able to cast on and off..lol Had no clue how to do it but it worked. Hope it doesn't fall apart once it's washed after our daughter gets it home. She wants to wash it in something special so she can let me know how it turns out. I enjoyed working on it but also knew I had a deadline. Thanks for responding.
