A West Hollywood home has as part of its halloween decorations an effigy of Palin hanging from a noose. The owner of hte house is calling it "halloween fun" and "art". What do you think? I do not think so. IF it would have been an effigy of Obama hanging from a noose everyone would have been up in arms and that man would have been labeled all kinds of names and probly charged with a hate crime, picketed and had CNN camped out on his doorstep. So why is it exceptable is hang ANYONE in effigy? If it is not exceptable to for one person than it should not be exceptable for anyone. Tell me what you think.

I responded to a similar discussion about this incident earlier. I think it's outside the bounds of acceptable taste, and I'd feel the same way no matter who was hung in effigy. As I said - if this guy were my neighbor, he'd be getting an earful of my opinion. For the record - Keith Olbermann just named this guy as his Worst Person in the World. Sounds like I'm not the only one who condemns his idea of "art". (Off the record - I hope his neighbors' idea of "Halloween fun", includes egging his house and wrapping it in TP.)

hopefully after they TP it, they take a water hose and water the TP down. That way it sticks and breaks into little pieace when you try to clean it up. Just a little tip.

It is despicable, but I do believe the same thing was done with Obama somewhere as well about a month ago. If these f*ckers lived in the same town as me I would have removed it from there property as soon as I heard about it. I seriously doubt the morons doing this have any level of security and it would be quite easy to remove late at night.

I am sure sense he is getting media attention that he is keeping a close eye on his property. He has to know he going to tick people off.

I think its sad. I think that it is a free country but some things are just in bad taste, I dont think that should be done with any of the canidates. I just think its wrong. I wouldnt have anything like that at my house or in my yard.

But if it was Obama it would be illegal and a hate crime. But if it is Palin than it is just "free speech". That is not fair.

"But if it was Obama it would be illegal and a hate crime. But if it is Palin than it is just "free speech". That is not fair." Neither were the events that make it so that a depiction of a 'black' person being hung carries a stronger negative image than that of a 'white' person in the same position.

We are suppost to be in equal times. Meaning everyone is equal. No matter their race or gender. SO if it wrong for one than it is wrong for the other. No double standards.

I think the people of the USA have too much freedom in the wrong areas. This should be illegal. If it had been Obama hanging there, the person would have been arrested.

I would not say we have too much freedom. But I do think this is very wrong.

Well, we obviously have the freedom to do that. Yet, if it was Obama they would be saying the KKK did it and be out there in droves looking for the guilty party. We have freedom to do the wrong things, and we are losing our freedom of religious expression. There are articles all over the net about things like that.

yep you are right. if it would have been Obama there would have been a huge outcry. there would have been major stories about it on the news. And who ever did it would be in deep deep trouble. That is what I am saying. It is a double standard. It is just as wrong to do it to Palin as it is to Obama. But were is the outcry? Were is the picketers? Why aren't the feminist throwing a fit? Why isn't the media having a cow over it?
