With Obama saying he wants to tax the rich...why do so many actors vote for him?  

I think people are just scared. They are blaming the republicans for everything. Its just a mad dash to the extreme because many of the voters are just voting party and have not checked out the canidate.

obama may say that he will tax the rich but what the actors know and are quite sure is that he is a politician and always politicians are really good in giving speeches and never keep up their promises...

Those actors don't fear Obama. They can still live nicely in the US but declare their income elsewhere as received there. They can use so many tax deductions that at the end of the day they have a poor person's income but still live the life of luxury. Their acting career is their business. A meal and party out on the town is entertaining clients. The car is the company car. Facials, personal trainers, spa visits, weekend getaways, all part of maintaining your body for your work, all essentials....... get it?


It's cool to pretend you care but they hardly ever do. None of them would give up their life style to give all the money to the cause they support. Neither will Obama give up any of his money. Who'll end up paying is the middle class and below... as always! Nothing will change.

The answer to your question, tho, is the RICH do not care about more taxes -- not the truly rich. They will still be plenty rich if Obama taxes them more.

It is the small and medium companies and businesses, and the people with families in the lower end of Obama's "rich" scale, those making maybe $250,000 - $450,000 who are raising children.

The companies will not be able to hire workers or expand their businesses, and the parents will have to cut back on some of the things they want to do for their children -- where they cut back, we will feel it with layoffs.

This question reminds me of a question put to Arnold Schwarzenegger years ago -- I cannot remember when or what the situation, only that there was a significant drop in the stock market and Arnold was not yet Governor of CA. As the nation watched the markets drop by the minute, Arnold was asked how he felt, if he was upset because he must have just lost millions in the last hour. Arnold's answer was that no, he really would not even NOTICE that loss. It meant nothing to him because his wealth was so high.

People with that much money are voting for Obama on the "change" platform, not caring about their taxes. It is the people that you aren't hearing from who will be hurt by the higher taxes during a time of recession. And the people below them -- you and me -- are going to feel it the most.

I've been wondering that myself, why are they supporting someone who is going to take their money. And if they are SO generous, why haven't they put their money where their mouths are before this?

I have no idea why people are into celebrity-worship, they're just actors doing a job. I don't know why anyone would put stock into anything they say, especially since they get paid to lie as a profession and to do it convincingly.

There is a huge difference with being millionaire rich and just having 250,000 dollars. The millionaires are so rich, it is no big deal to them to pay taxes.

Also I forgot to add most of Hollywood are not educated. Lots of them are high school drop out and live in "la-la land". I would not base any major decisions on them.

I think most actors are voting for him for his stand on social issues- abortion, first amendment, so on. And, yes, as someone said as artists, actors get to deduct lots of things on their taxes as business expenses. BTW, I'm an American, and I don't need anyone to tell me what to think. Certainly no celebrity. I think by myself.

Everyone knows that promises are made to be broken... especially in an election campaign. The rich will never be taxed.

What amazes me is that people consider these celebrities as someone worth listening to. Come on, they have so many personal problems and issues that most of their expertise is in rehab and they have little knowledge of politics.
