Do you like eating sweet potatoes baked in the oven?

My mother used to make them in the oven or, later in her life, the microwave.. she would load them down with butter and brown sugar.. My husband, son and mother ate them the same way, but I like them mashed and simmered in a pan with brown sugar covering them.. The brown sugar melts and make the potatoes sweet all the way through, then I like to top them with marshmallow and pop the pan in the oven long enough to brown the marshmallows.. Pizza and sweet potatoes for breakfast so far this morning, cream97 are you trying to make me fat?? I know that you are making me hungry..

My families favorite way for sweet potatoes is I cut them in half, then I put brown sugar, curry powder, and a bit of margarine on the insides. Then I wrap it in tin foil and bake till they are soft and sweet. My three children just love them. They are so great on cool nights as with the curry it has that spice but the sweetness of the sugar, which I love.

I do not like sweet potatoes, yams. When I was growing up my mother used to bake sweet potatoes, I ate them because I had to. She also made candied yams, and sweet potato pies, which I did not like either. I can say for certain, that a sweet potato or a yam is one item I have never purchased in my life

Basically I like to eat potatoes, when it is fried or boiled...... i haven't tried when the potatoes are baked...... if, the fried potatoes are much chilly, then I love them most........

I do like sweet potatoes and regular potatoes from the oven. Actually when I was a young child I didn't like sweet potatoes at all. Later in years I met my second husband who can really whip up a great dish for Thanksgiving.
It is some kind of marshmallow and brown sugar combination. I think the potatoes need to be either boiled or baked. They are really delicious and now I appreciate sweet potatoes more!

My Mom or my Aunt would make these all the time. They didn't leave the skin on it though & they would make them very sweet with syrup & marshmellows. I used to love it back then, but now I am not into the syrup & just the whole sweetness to it. I am looking for a sweet patatoe cassarole recipe...know of any?

Yes cream, I really do love a great baked sweet potato. there is nothing else in the world like them. If I am really hungry for one I will even make it in the microwave.

My mom always made sweet potatoes for Thanksgiving. She'd make them in the oven cut up into bite sized chunks and put butter, brown sugar and marshmallows on them and bake them. I never liked them and honestly I don't think anyone in my family did. But she made them every year. My sister makes them now the same way for her husband and he loves them. No one else eats them though.

yes it is lovely to eat a sweet potatoes when it is cold weather. I sometimes do cook sweet potatoes with sugar coated its the favorite snack food of my daughter but my mother love to eat a bake sweet potatoes for she has diabetes and also my husband.
