She may not actualy be a bad choice. she's tough, smart and knows how to conduct herself well. I don't agrea with most of her ideology but she would still be a good choice.
I must note however, that for a man who claimed he was going to apoint a "bipartisan" cabinate, he doesn't seem to be doing so far. all I'm seeing for possiblities so far is nothing more then a bunch of warmed over Bill Clinton administration has-beens.

He might as well - he's going to have all of Clinton's staff members - he just as well has his wife too!

Maybe he'll "supervise" the female White House aides and interns!

He apparently didn't seriously consider her for VP but it seems he may be seriously considering her for Secretary of State, as reported by Andrea Mitchell (and posted here by a previous poster). Not long ago Andrea Mitchell said this information came from two sources she's known for a long time and she considers them to be credible. It's not a done deal but I think it would be a good choice. However, I also think the other names that have been floated would all be good choices - Kerry, Richardson and Daschle.

Well I haven't seen this mentioned yet. We know that Obama never even vetted her or discussed the VP job with her, but if he said he was considering her for Secretary of State, he'd really have no reason to lie about it. He's already won the election and doesn't need to cater to her supporters anymore.

CNN was talking about it. They have not said she got the position but that Obama was thinking about it. So much for bipartisanship. He has not appointed anyone so far that is bipartisan.

He hasn't appointed ANYONE to the cabinet yet, period. Anyway, Secretary of State isn't a position I'd expect he'd give to a Republican simply because there's a big difference between the parties regarding foreign affairs. The possible exception would be Chuck Hagel.

I certainly hope not. I heard that Bill Richardson was in the running. I say that either one would be a mistake. If he was serious about having the best person...Condi Rice has done much more than Albright or Christopher.

Well he has not given to anyone yet. We will have to wait and see.

Two unidentified people on Obama's staff said that Hillary is being considered. Back when everyone was wanting her for vice president, I was saying no way, she'll be Secretary of State. Can't do that if she's Veep. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if this one is true. Hillary's staff say that she might possibly be interested in the position. The news was broken by Andrea Mitchell, who also says that others under consideration are Bill Richardson and John Kerry.
Albright is going along with a former Republican rep to observe the world economic summit as Obama's representatives. I haven't heard anything about her being considered for Secretary of State. In fact, there's been very little from the actual transition team about who is being considered for various positions - just a lot of speculation from political analysts about who might be on the short list. A number of Clinton staffers have been picked up for the transition team - who are helping go through resumes and vet people for cabinet posts, not taking Cabinet posts themselves.

There hasn't been even one cabinet position filled so far, just a few names being tossed around. Some former Clinton staffers are on the transition team and Al Gore's Chief of Staff has been named as Joe Biden's Chief of Staff along with Emanuel as Obama's, but they're not cabinet posts.

Other than Rahm Emmanuel, which cabinet picks are you counting?

What are you talking about, just about all of his cabinet picks have been former Bill Clinton people. What a minuate. Maybe that is why clinton people are getting the jobs. The clinton people that are doing the vetting are picking their friends (other clinton people) for the jobs.
