Wrong again chiang, The Sumerians knew of the planets, including the ones we only found recently including Pluto Neptune, Uranus and the asteroid belt. Look up your facts, The Sumerians say there is another planet as well, the one the astronomers are also searching for, Their whole religion was based around the planets, not only that they correctly described them including their color.

In a way I am wrong in that you are correct in saying that the the Sumerians were aware of the planets. What they were not aware of is the nature of the planets and they consider them to be gods.I'm not sure why some form of this knowledge did not make it into the Hebrew revision that became Genesis.

I am curious, you seem to have done a lot of research in this area. Have you looked at the influences that affect the origins of the beliefs of the Sumerians. The beginnings of Hindu culture in the Indus Valley predates the Sumerians and some of the beliefs seem to have a certain commonality about them. If you have done any research into this and have any references pertaining to it I would much appreciated if you would share that information with me.

Yes the planets and even the earth were their gods, few actually know this. But the had several classes of gods including the kingly line of man. this is where God/Kings or those who claimed to be descendants of the gods came from in all cultures. And yes i have read some early Dravidian texts, and other sanskrit books (with much hair pulling), And yes there are many similarities. And this is one of the reasons why I am convinced that something marvelous happened around 12,000 years ago. This much information from the Indian sub-continent, mesopotamia and Africa, something here has to click. Myth is nothing but the telling of a story of fact that is told in a grandeur way of heightening the major points. Not only the Indus Valley but parts of what is now Pakistan, in Merak, what is the chances that suddenly around the world, men come out of there caves at the same time, go from being hunter gatherers and become farmers, begin writing, begin astronomy,astrology and other sciences? From the British isles to Asia all at one time? Why do we think it fantasy that "the gods came down and tough man Math, irrigation and warfare. Have you read Adi Padva or the complete Mahabharat? I find other books fascinating about the wars of the gods. So tell me again why I should not believe that something 12,000 years ago must have happened to cause this kind of shift in man?

Actually, they knew at some point back then, before Christ came to earth, that the earth was round, not flat. It is in the Bible that the earth was round. But men failed to pay attention, failed to believe, and so they came to their own, incorrect conclusion that the earth was flat.

That doesn't really help much, but okay.

I am trying to say without being too controversial, What I am trying to say is that the planets and stars are covered in the creation story, just not fully in genesis. You can see some of it in Job, but to get the full scope you must read some of the banned books, after reading you will see why they are banned, because their information is directly in opposition to churches doctrines, Also one must read the Sumerian texts dealing with this issue. I am sorry that I can not just come out and say it, but we have many mixed company here at Mylot.

Yes you can still find some copies, I would suggest starting with the book of Enoch, Again some is allegory but you will get a better understanding on some of the thing the bible as we have it today

dear, when the Bible says that God did created the heavens this include the sky and the space, what we have in mind with the heaven is the place where God lives is like using the proper noun Heaven.

Yes there are three heavens mentioned. The first heaven is our skies, the second heavens is space, and the third heaven is the thrown of God, which you can not take the space shuttle to.

The planets have many purposes I'm sure.
One purpose has to do with forcasting the
extended weather forcast.
