Do you preffer filtered or bottled water?  

moving from NY to italy, i used to be a tap or brita, but those two options just dont exist here, im considering buy a brita to bring here! buying bottled is annoying and inconvienient. pay for water, lame.

We have well water so we never drink from the tap. I used to buy bottled water or get it from my mother in law because she has town water.
I had an old pur pitcher but the filters they used to make were not that good for our water.
But now they have improved them a lot so we got a faucet mount and more filters for the pitcher.
I will double filter. But the faucet mount makes the water come out very slowly, plus it is kinda in the way. But I figure it is the best way to get the most stuff out.

I will not drink the tap water either, and we do also filter our own water for drinking and cooking and also for the plants. One filter we have has now paid for itself many times over, although it seemed rather expensive when we bought it. It is a gravity feed (Doulton ceramic technology) that holds about 3 gallons and we pour the tap water in at the top and then a few hours later it is available from a spigot at the bottom. Very simple classic design and it gets about everything out.

We think it is much safer than bottled water, although I do buy the Glaceau Smart water from time to time (if it is on sale) to save and reuse the containers. I also cut them down to make hydroponic planters as they are the perfect sizes and shape.

The thing that the bottled water companies don't want you to know is that the water they are selling you is nothing more than tap water that is ran through a filter before they bottle it. I buy bottled water sometimes for convenience, but I usually save the bottles and refill them from my faucet. The water where we live is pretty good, even though we live close to the coast. We are on the city water supply, so it is monitored. It doesn't taste bad at all, so I don't really worry about it.

I buy Culligan water by the gallon for the coffee maker. Other than that, I am just fine with the tap water. Now communities to the east of us and to the north of us have stinky sulphur water. It almost tastes salty to me.

Here in our place and all over the country, there are lots of available drinking, potable water that is free. But since the business and the health conscious people invented or something, the bottled water, distilled bottled water, etc. we all have to use them. But because of the price of bottled water, refilling stations came out in the market with a very minimal prices. So instead of bottled water from the grocery, we just make use of refilled distilled water...

I would never drink bottled water. I think it's a terrible waste of money.

Saying that, I don't really like drinking water at all though, so perhaps I'm not the person to ask!

My tap water is good enough. I boil it for tea only but I can use it without any fear. Thus i save money on bottled water.
