What book are you currently reading? (Blurbs only- no spoilers)- |
| |
| Reading is healthy for the brain- it keeps our imagination going- So what are you reading right now? Just state the blurb- please do not put spoilers in for people whom also may be reading the book ;D At the moment i'm reading a REAL LIFE- book called: If i am missing or dead; In april 2002, Janine Latus's youngest sister, Amy, wrote a note and taped it to the inside of her desk drawer. "If i am gone or dead," It read, "Question Ron." Since childhood Janine and Amy had been sexualized and belittled. As adults the sisters sought familiarity, ending up in a series of abusive relationships. Finally, Janine confessed the truth to Amy, and with her support, escaped in time. But Amy was keeping a terrible secret of her own and by the time the letter was found ten weeks later, she was already missing ... It's quite a moving book- though i havent quite finished it yet. I'd recommend it so far though- What are you reading? And what's the blurb say? | | | | | |

| | Hi there Crywolf! I am currently reading Frankenstein but the sad thing is that I left it in a classroom in school this morning. I hope that my professor or one of my classmates got it. | | | | | | |

| | I'm currently reading The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring as I feel that this is one of those series that everyone has to have read by the end of high school. I'm enjoying it a lot! I think this is my third attempt at starting it up and it's no where near as boring as I thought it was before. Perhaps it was because I was too young when I first tried.. xD Here's what the back says: In a sleepy village in the Shire, a young hobbit is entrusted with an immense task. He must make a perilous journey across Middle-earth to the Cracks of Doom, there to destroy the Ruling Ring of Power - the only that that prevents the Dark Lord Sauron's evil dominion. I can't wait until I reach five hundred posts and can copy-paste! =P Anyways, enjoy your book; it sounds interesting! | | | | | | |

| | BLAH Lord of the rings :P i think i tried to read that when i was a lil younger too but i couldnt be bothered- was boring. Now i just cant be bothered overall :P I prefer more... REAL situations. Even if its fantasy- such as Maximum Ride - The Angel Experiment By James Patterson- This book is amazing, complete fantasy favorite definitely. It just strikes me as interesting because the PERSONALITY of the characters are so real, even though they're physically not. | | | |

| | I find it very interesting now though. =P If you like books such as the one you mentioned, you may be interested in The Eyes of God by John Marco. It's really amazing in my opinion as the characters are just so amazingly believable! It's like you're in their heads throughout the book. =D | | | |

| | That book sounds really good, I will definately have to read it next. I am currently reading Midnight Bayou by Nora Roberts. It is a romance novel with an underlying ghost story. I have only just started it, but it is very good so far. | | | | | | |

| | Interesting topic. ^_^ At the moment I'm reading War and Peace, which is unusually interesting and boring at the same time. I've been reading it for a while now, but I'll finish it! xD The back: War and Peace is a vast epic centered on Napoleon's war with Russia. While it expresses Tolstoy's view that history is an inexorable process which man cannot influence, he peoples his great novel with a cast of over five hundred characters. Three of these, the arless and delightful Natasha Rostov, the world-weary Prince Andrew Bolkonsky and the idealistik Pierre Bezukhov illustrate Tolstoy's philosophy in this novel of unquestioned mastery. Sounds exciting...? xD | | | | | | |

| | Hi, cryw0lf. I sure hope that reading is healthy for the brain since I do it so much. Ha. Right now I am reading The Awakening by Kate Chopin. I have read it once before, years ago while in college. It is the choice of my bookclub for this month so I am reading it again. I remember liking it very much the first time I read it. | | | | | | |

| | The Robber Bride by Margaret Atwood. Zenia is beautiful, smart and greedy; by turns manipulative and vulnerable, needy and ruthless; a man's dream and a woman's nightmare. She is also dead. Three women are there for the funeral, but five years on, as the the women share a lunch, the impossible happens - Zenia is back! I very much enjoyed reading The Blind Assassin by the same author. It has taken me much longer to get into this novel, but I am well into it now I am more than half way through. It is very cleverly written. Each of the three main characters has their own back story, and all of them are linked in some way to the mysterious Zenia. | | | | | | |
