I don't think people came from monkeys. That would be why there are still monkeys today. I totally believe that God created everything and nothing evolved from anything else. Sure there are changes of species over time because they adapt to their surroundings, but for a monkey to evolve into a human? No thanks I don't buy it.

I envy you your faith, it must be very comforting. But I need to ask you, how come we share such a huge percentage of our DNA with monkeys and other primates? I have heard a creationist scientist say that this is just one of God's little confusing clues to test our faith, like fossils, and carbon dating, and other silly scientific things. Perhaps you take that view too?
I think I'll stay with my belief in St. Charles.

What a brilliant observation one that has got me stumped. May be there was a superior monkey and thats where we came from ,mind you looking at some people and their action I think there must have been many breeds of monkeys, you want to send this off to one of those accademics and they can write a paper on it,should keep them quite into the next century.

Yes, like respondents before me, my reply too is that its one branch of apes which evolved as humans. Maybe the branch which evolved was more intelligent than other apes and so over time, they could think more rationally and try and of other things which apes usually don’t do. So gradually over time they became more human-like and less ape-like.

Hello coolmailraj. It is an interesting question of yours why there are still monkeys since there are evolutions. Well, I don't think that I can give you a satisfactory answer to this question. Since humans are evolved from some species of apes or monkeys, then it might be a little bit hard for another species to...Or monkeys are not developed enough to be evolved like us humans? I hope that you don't mind my humble view on this.

Monkeys are one part of the ape species .. so just because man evolved from one variant of ape does not mean that ALL apes should evolve.. nature has a way of keeping a balance. its like saying someone born in Africa must look talk walk act exactly the same as someone born in north pole. just remember all the different species of apes .. maybe the species that evolved to man is now ONLY man .. :)

This monkey is correct. i don't recall charles darwin mentioning the term monkey. what he said was ape. it's just people that over exaggerate what darwin said cause they can't stand the taught of them being an ape.

Because they didn't evolve into something else? Evolution is a tree, not a ladder. Species branch off from other species. We did not evolve from monkeys (if that's where you were going), and even if we did, that doesn't necessarily mean they wouldn't exist. Parent species can exist at the same time as the species that branch off from them. Species don't just go *poof* and disappear when another species evolves from them.

Evolution doesn't mean that every monkey should change to man. Thats what i feel.

evolution only comes into play when nature forces it, by slowly changing conditions. It is not an overnight thing. One day you're a monkey the next a human.
This is why the intermediate changes are so interesting. Does this answer your questions? Some monkeys just lucked out and lived where there were great conditions for monkeys so they didn't need to change to survive.
