There is an area near me that has about 20 houses all set alongside a creek that flows into the Mississippi River. REvery house has lights of some sort for the holidays. This is a shot of lights strung up a tall flag pole making a tree shape. I love the lights reflecting off the water. Do you have any shots of others houses all lit up to share at all? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

That is really nice, Bob. That looks sort of like this tree in this man's pond in front of his house. He has his tree floating out in the middle all lit up and it puts a reflection on the pond. It is really pretty, too. I might get out and get a picture if I'm down that way at night.

One year we were going to my dad's for Christmas and it was night time when we finally got in the Dallas area and we come down a hill and off to our right was a huge neighborhood all lit up and I remember some water too and the lights reflecting off of it. I could be wrong at saying it was around Dallas but that don't matter, it was beautiful. I don't have any pictures right now of any homes around here.

This is about a mile from the Mississippi River. There are many houses along the Mississippi River but very few are decorated though. If I lived on the river I'd try to get a whole neighborhood involved in a lighting ceremony of some type. I think a lit house along a waterfront is one of the best views for thew Holidays myself. Hey Grandpa Bob! That must be a beautiful scene to see all those house lit up along the water! I'll be that makes for some great photos! That is a very beautiful state that you live in! I think that would be a nice place to visit! There are alot of interesting things to see there so it seems! It certainly has some quaint looking houses! I know I would love to have anyone of those type of homes, just I want one with a fire place!

That is really nice the Christmas lights reflecting into the creek. The Mississippi River Woe!. That is really lovely where you are Bob. When I get my flash working at night I will put on Christmas lights at night. Hopefully some of my own also. They come out dots of dim light and the darkness is very matt. I do not know what setting this camera is on but I have tried everything. Hubbys going to fix it tomorrow as me and gadgets do not mix.

I do not use a flash at night for these types of photos. I adjust the lighting setting and the shutter speed is all. Long explanation but it took messing with the buttons and reading the manul a lot. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

No, I have no taken any pictures of near by houses that are all lite up. I want to do this thou. Just to see if I can get them to turn out. But it would have to be on a road that is less traveled. As people get mad if you sit in the middle of the road.

Christmas in America sure is beautiful. I haven't any pics of decorated houses near us, but I went for a walk last night quite late, and saw some of them. I wish I'd taken my camera, as one street had three houses next to eachother all decorated up to match! People really do go to a lot of trouble, and there were lots of cars pulling up and stopping so the children could have a look. Our Council gives a prize for the best decorated house each year!

Amazing Catch bob! This is fantastic I especially love the ripples in the water and just how secluded the tree is from everything. Job well done with this. I look forward to seeing more of your work! :)
