Can you concentrate writing while listening to music?

Oh you do listen to music while at work. But have never heard of that song you're listening now. I suppose that is your favourite.

It goes the same to reviewing songs, listening to the music while typing on the keyboard, getting good ideas to put words on the reviews. I have gotten used to doing it in slicethepie and now my mind just goes blank if there is no music accompanying my writing.

Music pumps more ideas to the brain.

This depends on individuals but since getting actively involved in the song reviews I found out that I can actually fare better when I am listening to music. Though I can't deny that good lyrics do halt my writing for a while. But while mylotting I still keep the music on and sieve from one site to another. Maybe there is a short circuit in my brain that makes this possible.

Newage songs you mean those 'hip hop songs? Ooops..I can never appreciate hip hop, their lyrics are meaningless and does not appeal to me. the songs that I like listening over and over are those evergreen oldies or any newer version that has good lyrics.

I very much doubt she means hip hop.. that's not what I'd use to relax or meditate lol. New Age like Enya or Lorena McKennitt, or songs with soothing keyboards or chinese/japanese flutes, songs with sounds of nature like ocean waves or rain. I'm pretty sure that's what OceanTiara means by New Age.

Maybe Ocean did not mean just that but am wondering which age or category do we place hip hops? I always thought they belong to the newage?

Hi rosdimy, you're right it is a booster as well as a great motivating factor for me. And music always makes me feel young at heart.

Great, you listen to music too minus the headphones. For me the moment I sit in front of the computer the headphones will also be over my head, I find something is missing if I don't have the headphones.

LOL Its the same with my daughter, she is perpetually with her headphones, sometimes she goes to sleep with them on and i go and take it off .It is a phase i guess and one gets over it and then take after something else, but one's love for music will remain forever

I hope so kiran, music remain forever and does not become 'the thing of the past' when I am old and wrinkled. I think music retard aging to a certain degree. It re-vitalize the aging cells in us.
